Clean but wierdly designed room. Hard to find

I stayed this hotel for one night during my business trip to Seoul. Room is small but equipped with everything you need. Staff members were friendly and helpful. The room I got was very weirdly designed, especially its bathroom. The shower head is on the wall facing the toilet just a few feet away. Since there is no shower curtain in this tiny bathroom, if you turn on the shower it sprays water all over the bathroom, including the toilet seat and the toilet paper. But the room was spotlessly clean. I actually booked a non-smoking room but the room had an ashtray, although I did not smell any hint of cigarette smoke in the room. The room had two empty cups and an electric kettle but there were no tea bags or instant coffee packs. A bottled water was in the fridge though. There is a 24-hour open convenience store on the first floor. The most serious problem was its location. It's a bit far from the metro station and hid amid high-rise apartments, it's virtually not visible from the nearby streets. My taxi driver did not know this hotel and could not find the hotel with his GPS. Overall, its a clean and good hotel for a quick business stay, if you are familiar with this area.

    Comfortable stay

Quick check-in. The room has everything you need and more. There's your telly, fridge, AC and speedy internet. In the bathroom we had packs of toiletries in case you've forgotten your toothbrush or toothpaste, shampoo. The towels and rubbish were collected every day which was fine with us. Downstairs there is a café where you can have a snack and a drink. There is an option for breakfast but they need 10 people otherwise they can't do it. There's a small supermarket just outside the hotel. You can get anything you want there. There are many small eateries around. The station (Sinimun on line 1) is 10 mins away. It's really easy to find the hotel. At the station look for Exit 1 and go straight down the road. At the end of the road turn right, the hotel is on the right. The hotel is about 20-30 minutes away from central Seoul,30 mins to Seoul station but closer to Bukhansan mountain. If you have a query the reception is happy to check things out for you, like train times, etc. We're really happy with our stay. I felt strongly about leaving a review in English as there aren't many. It's really important that other potential guests know about this hotel and make up their mind. Most of the guests are Korean ,Japanese and Chinese and so are the reviews too. I disagree with other reviewers that it was difficult to find. It's on the main road, you can't miss it.

    Charming hotel

I stayed at this hotel for two weeks during my first visit to Korea, and while I enjoyed my stay, I can say that this hotel probably isn't for everyone. The hotel is located in a neighborhood that is slightly run-down, yet at the same time, has character and privacy that some of the more popular neighborhoods lack. I found myself liking the area within the first few days and enjoyed that I was able to experience a more genuine and realistic experience of Seoul, rather than one that was altered to fit capitalist or materialist desires. One thing to keep in mind as well, is that regardless of your hotel location, there are always numerous subways that can easily take you to any area of the city in which you want to be. Although our room was small, I found it to be big enough for my taste and would even consider it cozy. The beds were very hard, but I believe that is common in Korean hotels. The only things I didn't enjoy about my stay was the fact that room service wasn't always consistent and of the highest quality, and that the wifi was very poor, almost non-existent. With that being said, the customer service was very good, and would probably be the primary factor behind my choice to re-visit this hotel in the future. The manager, who was incredibly nice, helpful, and bilingual, went out of his way to provide any assistance that he could and quickly responded to any complaints or problems that we had. While the hotel is relatively minimalist, it is the perfect choice for any individual whose itinerary involves exploring the city. If you are going to be spending a lot of time in your hotel though, then you may want to choose to stay somewhere more luxurious.

Just okay, away from the maddening crowd.

The hotel is okay, nothing special. The rooms are decent. There is breakfast but you will have to let them know in advance as they need to have a minimum of ten people. The shower area is tiny and so you do have it splashing over the toilet seat. Wifi is spotty - so best not to rely on it. The staff don't speak much English. I wouldn't agree that the customer service was even average, except for one part time student working there. The rest of the staff would feign not to understand me. They weren't the most helpful. Even trying to get a receipt for my stay was cumbersome. Cleaning service is tardy at the most. Some days there was no toilet paper and other days no fresh towels. One evening when I returned my room was still not done. They don't make your beds - all they do is make sure that the glasses are washed and put back for tea or coffee. I wouldn't recommend it. It did have a great rooftop which had a good view over Seoul. I loved the neighbourhood. But I found a much more homely and comfortable hotel within the vicinity.

    It's OK

Far from the city centre, the hotel is located in Sinimun,a suburban area of Seoul;10 minutes walking distance from the subway station, and with many local restaurants around. The staff is friendly and the local vendors of the nearby restaurants too.The rooms are small and functional.
