Recommended!!This hotel is located in a beautiful backstreet. There is a little pool ouside and inside another one, both provided with thermal water. From the terraces you have a wonderful sight to the sea and the mountains. It's very quiet, with a little church down the street from which you can sometimes hear the prayers and laughter. The rooms are clean and there is daily housekeeping service. We had a room in a next-door building, which we liked a lot. The staff is very friendly and helpful, day and night, maybe because the hotel is run by a family. We had a room with half board. There is a rather scarce breakfast. In the evening you get to choose between three starters and three main courses. The pasta is always great, but some food was a bit too greasy. It's a 15 minute walk to the city and 20 minutes to the beach of Forio. We had a wonderful stay at the Castaldi Terme and would come back anytime!

terribleProbably a nice place if you are 80 years old. We stayed there for 8 days (payed from home through Agency) including dinner. Food was just possible to eat, but what a pitty to be Italy and eat that. Swimming pool was very dirty. After 1 week I asked them if they could clean it. They told me that I should not worry about the dirt, but worry much more about the radioactivity. They told the pool is thermal, so kids can just be in the pool for max 10 minutes. They clearly showed me Im am not very clever since I did not know this, and that there was a sign at the pool, so everybody who can read can see this. I know how to read but there was no sign at the pool (i looked Again after they told).

Beautiful Property - Outstanding ViewsWe were delighted by how great a choice this booking proved to be. I was a little concerned at first because of the distance from the beach, but this turned out to be a plus for us, as the hotel is set a bit up the foot of Mount Epomeo, so the view from our balcony offered a sweeping vista of the Forio shoreline and the rooftops of Forio village sloping down toward it. While the hotels closer to the beach are huddled together with little breathing room, this property has near palatial grounds, including a winding drive, gardens, and three separate buildings, all with climbing ivy, tropical plants and flowers, and the pervasive perfume of jasmine everywhere. The atmosphere is absolutely breathtaking. The pool is the best, with dramatic backdrops of the town, palm trees, and Mt. Epomeo looming above. The staff are multilingual, efficient, and friendly. The rooms are spacious, if a bit sparsely appointed (who cares how small the television is when you're in an island paradise?). Decor is tasteful, bright, and charming, albeit showing slight signs of age here and there. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous and inviting, plenty of low rattan couches, tile floors. We didn't see the indoor pool or thermal spas, but the unending line of visitors suggests that they are excellent. Breakfast was perhaps the only thing that belied that this is a 3-star hotel. Two selections of cold cuts, boiled eggs, cheese, yogurt, bread. I wasn't too impressed, but my wife really enjoyed the warm croissants, preferring them to what was on offer in local pastry shops. You will have to walk through the tiny cobbled streets of the quaint town of Forio to reach the beaches. But that's actually part of the charm. If you don't stop to oggle or sample the ample gelaterias, pizzerias, cafes, bakeries, and small shops along the way down it will take you 15 minutes to reach. But we never managed to avoid these distractions. Wifi was impossible to pick up in our building, but no problem in the main building, where many of the rooms are. And really, you won't miss it. Really recommended as a romantic destination!

Charming and relaxing.Charming hotel set at the bottom of a mountain with glorious views from the pool.Weather was great so I enjoyed the best ischia has to offer and wasn't in the hotel for great lengths of time apart to sleep. Please note this is a hotel popular with elderly Italians and Germans. It has a very laid back and respectful atmosphere. If you are into wild parties this probably isn't for you. There was a language barrier as I am British, but the hotel staff made an effort to get round it as did I and all in all they were very helpful.Pool was fab great temperature clean pool area with room to relax on sun loungers.Lovely relaxing gardens to sit in read and enjoy the weather.Breakfast was fine toast, ham, croissants, orange juice.Dinner was fine also two plates one pasta, one meat, desert and wine and water included.Waiters were helpful, friendly and prompt given they had a full dining room each night. My room was ok single room spacious with decent sized bathroom, aircon didn't really work.Room was cleaned everyday and hotel was in general clean. For the price I paid can't really complain too much for what was included and was only a ten minute walk from the centre of forio. If you want a secluded break with not much too bother you then this hotel is a good choice.
