  Good simple country hotel - well priced!

  Had a nice weekend stay and slept well. Staff greeted us in the car park and escorted to reception then room. Rooms older traditional style with futons made up in the evening. Room had small sitting area, tea facilities, basin and toilet. Despite low season and low occupancy we were allocated a room at the back of the hotel so we had no view of the mountain/ski field/golf course which was a little dissapointing. Onsen (main) was very nice, spotless and well maintained. Dinner and breakfast was a highlight with kaiseki (multi course) style and the staff were very friendly. Room for dinner/breakfast was tatami with a nice atmosphere. Private onsen use is included with the room (1 use per night - 40 minutes). This is located in an adjacent building with 11 to choose from - very clean and beautiful setting. In summary good value older style hotel with good food and onsen. Only Japanese spoken.

  The Hot Spring is good!

  We went there for a skii trip. I enjoyed the hot spring very much! There were so many different hot spring rooms to select. The service and the dinner were very good. I would like to visit again some day.

  11 hot spring themes to choose from

  The staff were very nice and helpful. What is remarkable about this hotel is the Onsen (hot spring). There are 11 themed hot springs that you can choose from to reserve. The hot springs can fit a small family which you can use for about an hour. There is also a hot spring on top of the hill overlooking the hotel. There is a shuttle bus but you can enjoy walking back down to the hotel after a dip. This hotel has been there for a while and if you are looking for the newest and greatest, this may not be the hotel for you. Nature, hot springs and friendly staff are thumbs up for us.

  3 Days 2 Nights Family Relaxing Trip

  My family and I went there on 15 Jul and spend 3 days 2 nights at Sunbird Hotel Minakami ; which I guess it was a low season here. We chose to drive there ourselves. Besides the really up and downhill roadside, I find this hotel super nice. With 11 private onsens to choose, I didnt use our private onsen at all. And as mentioned, it was a low seasons so we found no tourist, just Japanese people. That made this hotel even more quiet and relaxed. Foods were nice (both breakfast and dinner). Staff were exceptionally helful. And the air was fresh and lovely with 18- 20°c. We love it here and will definitely find times to go back
