  Room far too hot to sleep in and manager who is not at all interested in his guests

  We slept in their new rooms and we know it was a hot day, but the room was like a sauna and window could hardly open. No air con. When we approached the manager in the morning he just said "Well we didn't know the new rooms would get that hot. Will bear it in mind for the next guests". He did not apologise or look at us once. The rooms are also really plain and basic. Also found hairs on the walls in the shower cubicle. Far better hotels in Holbaek that are down by the harbour and that are cheaper than this. Even though we often travel to Holbaek there is no chance we are going back to Hotel Strandparken.

  nice hotel , nice visit

  it was nice to visit, quiet and clean room, friendly team, price was fine. the dining room was busy, so i took the dinner to my room. but that ok. internet speed was fine. the shower was small but still nice. and warm water.

  Very Good Customer Service

  Stayed with a group in Holbaek, as drinking in the bars or restaurants can be expensive (approx 9euro for one beer), management did not mind the group returning in the evening and bringing our own beer/wine to enjoy in the hotel lobby. We obviously ensured the lobby was clean and tidy when we finished.

  Always good Especially in the Summer

  During the summer months the hotel with its outdoor seating area is at its best looking out over the sea. The receptionist is always nice and polite and the breakfast is good. I have never eaten in the restaurant for dinner preferring a walk into town where there are a few good places to eat. The room are functional with the normal Nordic strange arrangement of a small square pillow and a duvet that just covers the bed. In the summer though the rooms get quite hot at night even with all windows open. You can walk/run around the lake/sea which is very pleasant in the morning or early evening as the sun sets.

  Very Disappointing and Gross.

  We rented a suite at Hotel Strandparken, but sadly it was a very disappointing stay. The view and area was/is really nice. but that is it! the hotel was definitely not worth the money. The cleaning and the morning buffet was indeed lacking! There was no hand soap when we arrived, and the soap holders was really gross!. The Spa bathtub was smelling really really bad, and there came brown water out of the cane in the spa, so it seems like they didn't clean that either! There was spiderweb with dead bugs in the corners, and also you had to check every coffee mugs and glasses, because most of them was also not cleaned good. One of the beds was almost falling apart, and was making really loud squeaky noises everytime you turned around in it, so that sadly kept us awake both nights. The morning buffet was very disappointing too. There was only 2 kind of healthy very dry and hard bread, and the bread had big holes in it. There was no white bread or "danish"/wienerbrod or pancakes or anything delicious. So it seems like they only live on the lake view, and not so much on quality, cleaning and service. We give them 2 stars only because of the nice view and area.
