    Perfectly adequate for the price

After reading some of the reviews here I was a bit worried about our stay here - but it turns out the worries were unfounded. Obviously you can't expect a 5-star hotel at this price, and the whole building could definitely do with some renovations, but everything was clean, funnctional, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Just don't make the mistake and confuse wear & teear with dirt - there is a lot of the former, but none of the latter. Not all staff appeared to be fluent in English, but Lyon isn't in England, and things could easily be sorted out with a bit of goodwill.

    Euro 2016

Booked two nights in this place.... Three rooms. We were a group of six folk going to the football. The location is ok for Lyon centre as long as you use the efficient tram/metro system. Taxis are a rip off. One member of staff was very helpful with a warm welcome and giving other information...he even printed our boarding cards too. Another positive was breakfast with nice croissants and cheese juice n yogurts. Wifi in reception was free. The price was also very keen. However there were too many negatives. No toilet seat on our loo. Very cramped en- suite. The advertised bar did not really exist and did not even stock wine. Just beer by the can or fizzy drinks. The carpet in the hallways was badly stained and the rooms very very basic with one of them smelling strongly of smoke. I wouldn't dream of taking my wife here and would not return myself unless some serious modernisation took place.

The MOST DISGUSTING hotel I have ever set foot in

Me and my friend are travelling France for the Euros and one of our stops was Lyon, so we booked this hotel (unfortunately without reading reviews). It is at least 45mins commute from Lyon city centre which includes a tram ride and a walk through a very patchy/scary area (would not advise to walk alone or at night). When we eventually found our hotel we were initially a bit sceptical as there was nobody around the area and the hotel looked dirty from the outside. The staff actually met us with open arms and were very nice, although english is not spoken well. Our walk to the room was the start of the downfall. Disgustingly dirty and stained corridoors led us to our room and our worst fears imagined. We had booked and paid to stay for two nights, but within 5 minutes of being in the room we had already booked to stay somewhere else the second night as it was that bad (we'd have upped and left there and then to somewhere else had we not arrived too late). The room was disgusting, there was no lighting (other than the "bathroom" which i'll get on to soon). The bedsheets were the only clean thing in the room. There was wallpaper ripped off and hanging off the wall, the floor was filthy, the curtains were filthy and the walls were stacked with mould. And the worst of all, and i am not even joking, there was actually 'poo' stains smeared on the wall. The whole 'en suite' was the size of a swimming pool changing cubicle, the shower came from the sink, there was poo stains again on the toilet flusher, and on the toilet roll holder. The most ironic thing about it all is how disgustingly filthy it is, and there is a flat screen television on the wall, what on earth is that about!? Anyway, to finish off, if the thought even crosses your mind to stay in this 'hotel', don't. If there is nowhere else to stay and everywhere is fully booked and it's the last hotel with vacancies in a 50 mile radius, sleep rough instead, it would be better than this absolute hell hole.

    Ok but needs updating

The carpets are badly stained, your rooms dont get touched at all, no clean towels etc unless you ask for them. The bar was a few cans of pop of can of larger not really a bar. The rooms are small the beds and shower/toilet are clean thou but i woulndt bring the mrs here. The staff were great esp the young man who was very helpful with advice etc. But for the money its ok as a place to sleep and wash.

    Grim

Had the misfortune of staying here during Euro 2016 and despite the best efforts of the lovely staff can honestly say it is the most shambolic, dirty and wholly unacceptable place I have ever stayed in. Definitely would not recommend even if I was bring paid to stay there. How this place remains open is beyond my comprehension. Never again.
