  Excellent rooms but staff a little inattentive

  We stayed here for one night on business. Our room was clean and comfortable, however we went to the bar for a drink and were told we had to go upstairs to sit. When we arrived upstairs it was a plain area with some sofas - no character, mood or welcome feel. We ordered our drinks which took quite a while to arrive (mainly because they had to come back to check on our order, even though we were the only ones there!) No diet coke available (my husband is diabetic). We booked the drinks to our room. The next morning we asked for our bill and were told we only had to pay the city tax. We reminded them that we had purchased drinks at the bar but they had no reference to this at reception. It then took about 10 minutes for the receptionist to find out how much the drinks were, despite telling him we were in a hurry. So much for honesty!

  Interesting and Relaxing

  Bagnoles-de-l'Orne, is a lovely town to visit, with its La Belle Époque architecture, and Hôtel Spa Du Béryl is a very pleasant way to spend time there. It is a very comfortable hotel in a convenient location. All the staff at the hotel are very helpful (booking restaurants for us, etc.) and provide good service. Set in a National Park, the location is ideal for visiting beauty spots in the local area (e.g. La Ferté-Macé).

  stay in September

  We had a nice stay, staff very friendly, rooms good. Beakfast a bit pricey.Nice area, but a lot of the restaurents etc seemed to be closed, I suppose the end of September is the end of the season for them.

  Always read the worst reviews before the good

  We booked online and filled in the bit special request . Please could we have a nice room with a view....... Ive been very ill after my stroke and it was our last night in France. Well I hope you can see our view on my attached pic. Its the car park. Reception staff dont give a damn. Its just a job. Get paid then go home... Well it ruined our last night. We even stupidly had a meal in the restaurant and had to send it back as it was cold. Really disappointing trip and had drive a long 4 hours to reach here. Waste of time and money.

  Lovely Hotel!

  What a lovely hotel and excellent location walking distance to the casino and restaurants! Modern, clean room with a large balcony and beautiful view overlooking Lake Vee. The check-in personnel were extremely kind and helpful, and gave us vouchers for the casino. The hotel also offers free access to their pool, sauna and hot tub. Highly recommend! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
