Great hotel, poor dinnerWe stayed in the Sunny Activ hotel for 4 days for a skiing trip. Rooms are perfect, very good beds and everything is very clean. Facilities like pool and sauna are very good. The restaurant serves a decent tasty breakfast. Evening meals however are pretty poor (very salty, tasteless). Great place to stay, not to have dinner.

Good but...Pluses: - Nice clean rooms with balconies and nice view - Good food, in particular delicious breakfast - Sauna and small swimming pool (so don't forget to take your swimsuit, even though it has a naked zone everyone wears one, which actually is a minus) - Ski and snowboard storage room - Nice shortcut to the city (5 min walk to acres ski bar) Minuses: - Far from the ski lift; the hotel arranges from time to time some shuttle but I could find it only in the morning. After whole day of skiing I had to take a local bus an still walk quite a lot in ski boots which is not the easiest - Service - as everywhere it's very subjective, there were some amazing nice people and some that makes you think... why do they do that; in the end leave to your judgement - In my bathroom the shower was broken but I think it was just one off accident - Some rooms are facing the church, the bell rings early and every 15 min:( In general good option but I would look for something closed to ski-lift,

Wonderful locationThe hotel is placed in a wonderful area, it looks very picturesque and traditional, the staff are friendly and speak good English. They are very helpful and organized very well all the activities our tour needed. The restaurant is a culinary wonder, the food was delicious and the staff very professional, friendly and helpful. We were there for Christmas and were very pleasantly surprised with their efforts, they catered even for vegetarians. Another highlight was the free salads, we were really spoiled for choices and taste. The only downfall we found was the poor room cleaning. We had a spacious bright room with open wood walls made of logs; they might of look traditional but through the cracks the dust was thick! The cleaner was only focusing on the bathroom and didn't bother at all with the rest of the room apart of making the beds. We stayed for one week and she left us with a tiny piece of soap that obviously finished after about 3 days and didn't replenish it, the same with all the other toiletries (except the toilet paper). This was unacceptable for a 4 stars hotel! Also the walls made of wood were not very helpful when you have noisy neighbours, as it did happen to us...

Plesant hotel with a peaceful locationWe visited Kirchberg with a group of frends and stayed at Activ Sunny Hotel Sonne. The hotel has s large dining room and bar area, great facilities for storing ski boots and skies, small swimming pool and kind of a sauna. The room was large and had a balcony with a lovely view to the mountains. The bed was good and separate WC and bathroom was nice. There was one inconvenience with the room, it was too hot and you could not adjust the temperature at all. The breakfast was plentiful and very taisty. We had a half board and the supper included to the room prize. The food was overall good. Im not perfectly satisfied with the service we received at the restaurant. The waitresses where a bit rude in the beginning and did not speak English well. There were strict placing to the tables, people should have been sitting on the same table the whole stay. This rule was not informed to us which lead to inconvenient situations e.g. the waiters commanded us unfrendly to change tables at the brekfast while we were still eating because we sat on wrong table.

Excellent HotelVisited for a week as part of a Titan Xmas Tyrol Tour. Really pleased at the quality and service in the hotel. Upgraded to a Superior Bedroom which appeared recently refurbished to a very high standard but still contained plenty of pine wood and had great views across the snowy mountains. Only downside was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. We were on Half Board and had an excellent choice at breakfast - eggs cooked to order, usual bacon, sausages, mushrooms etc and a wide selection of cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts, fresh fruit, etc. Went for the machine Cappuccino rather than the Americano jug on the table, and wide range of high quality teas also available. Evening meal consisted of a starter, then a very tasty soup, a main course which had to be selected from a choice of 3/4 dishes in the morning, and then a desert and tea/coffee - all food was cooked to a very high standard, good sized portions, and a good variety. Only criticism from a personal viewpoint was that some dishes seemed to contain a lot of salt - in particular the scrambled egg! Service levels good although sometimes people not ordering in the morning created anxiety amongst the staff at dinner time. Hotel facilities looked good but we didnt have time to try out the pool/sauna. And there was only a limited amount of seating area around the bar and no lounge area which would have been helpful given the number of residents (our tour was 34 and there were two other sizeable tours). Easy walk from hotel to the centre of Kirchberg, and shuttle transport to the slopes for the skiers. Overall a highly recommended hotel.
