  Good place to stay near the castle

  I was a little nervous because of the mixed reviews, but overall I was very happy. We got a room in the main building rather than the annexes, so this probably helped. I see some people refer to having food in the evening but that is not so in the summer. Our room was very good (a little tight for twin beds) and was protected by a knight in armor in the hall. Good breakfast (a bit busy), lots of choices. Great location of course.

  Great location close to the castle.

  The hotel buildings are very charming. We got a room in the annex though. Very basic and small, but okay and clean with a lovely garden outside the window. The breakfast is great. The hotel is situated in the original old part of town. Very charming and very close to the water, a park, the art museum, the castle and a big green area and possibilities for a swim. Lots of local people doing workout, picnics, swimming ie. Very nice area.

  Cosy and friendly stay

  We stayed her for the second time and experienced again a clean room and friendly staff. Parking is very limited, but we were lucky that a 75 SEK/day pay space was available. Cosy warm evening in the courtyard with lot of other travellers. Excellent breakfast and free simple ok evening meal this friday evening.

  Very typical Swedish hotel located near the Castle of Kalmar

  The location of the hotel was very convenient as we travelled from Stockholm to Kalmar to see the Light and Sound Show of Vincent Van Gogh's life and arts in Kalmar Castle. The hotel is walking distance from the train station. And very near the Castle as well as centre of Kalmar where there are stores, restaurants and cafes. The hotel is in a quiet area and is nicely interiored, with comfortable beds. The sumptuous breakfast included everything included freshly baked bread. The service is also very good. I can highly recommend Slotthotelet.

  Perfect location and good breakfast!

  Perfect location a couple of hundred meters walk from the castle and restaurants and five minutes walk from the center. Very good breakfast! Elegant rooms and interior in the main building, more simple but good rooms in the budget accommodation building.
