  A Modern Onsen Hotel with Nice View and Good Food

  We went to the Northeastern part of Japan during the Golden Week so we expected that we would be paying a premium for the hotel prices so I had not a high expectation. However, everything turned out to be nice and of good value. The onsen is good; there are four separate ones with different themes, and each morning they swap the female and the male sections, so for a one-night stay, I have visited all four. The dinner is of semi-buffet style so one can try traditional Japanese delicacies served at the table and also pick from a good variety of main dishes and desserts from the buffet, including lots of long-leg crab. Planning to go to Japan during the cherry blossom season has always been like a gamble; if going too early, there is no flower and if too late, you will find more leaves than flowers. We have picked a week too late so have missed the full bloom in most places. The hotel is very attentive and they posted a chart in the lobby to tell guests where you could still find full bloom in the nearby area. We followed their recommendation and found places we have not heard about and saw some lovely flowers. For this, I have to say a big thank you!

  There are better deals in the area

  We were attached to this hotel by seeing the reviews and pictures on the website, however after spending two days in there we felt relief having chance to go back to Tokyo. For those who just came to Japan and didn't experience anything else this hotel might be nice and attractive, but trust me, for the prince you pay you can have a much better place, especially more modern place because this hotel is really old fashioned. Only good part of the hotel is 3rd floor onsen and a truly nice and friendly staff.

  Well situated with great views

  We visited this hotel as part of a tour. Our room overlooked the lake and surrounds. Japanese style bedding ie on the floor with futon. A bit hard on the back and difficult to get up from for an oldie. The hot spring bath was hot but the outside one great because of the views. Our evening meal was a set meal of Japanese style. Varied and tasty,washed down with saki. Spent the evening with group karaoke.

  Good hotel with good lake view and delicious food.

  We liked this hotel very much. The lake view was nice. The set dinner with half-buffet was tasty. The buffet breakfast with Iwate yogurt was delicious. The onsen was nice also. Would definitely go to this hotel again.

  Good onsen stay

  There were two sets of onsens on two different floors and they both had decent size indoor and outdoor baths, though I was there at an offpeak period and they might've been quite packed otherwise. The Japanese-style room was a good size and clean. I got dinner and breakfast with my stay. Dinner - a set course meal - was excellent. Breakfast was buffet-style and in a large hall and wasn't exceptional. There is a shuttle bus to and fro Morioka Station.
