  Fantastic find

  We were on a journey in this area outside of Leipzig and got lucky to stay at this lovely hotel. The rooms and public areas are well done, clean and updated. The restaurant and food is fabulous. The hotel staff can't be nicer or more helpful. Purchase the local beer brewed just for the hotel at the reception area. Delicious! The pool is great and only wish we had more time to stay in this great little find. The local area is really growing with the new lake development. IT is an easy drive into downtown Leipzig if you want some entertainment or to just enjoy the city center.

  Nice hotel

  This hotel is really nice, beautiful bedrooms, nice bathrooms, very clean, staff were so lovely, especially in the restaurant., food was good too. Comfy beds, and buffet breakfast was good. Parking on site, it's a few Kms from the city, but peaceful.

  Nice hotel

  The hotel looks new and is very clean. It's situated in a small town, where a lot of businesses are on-going, but is not really touristic.Slept at the front and had quite some disturbance of the transport company next door. Also it would be nice to have thicker and extra pillows. So, when sleeping at the back and thicker pillows a first class hotel. Very nice breakfast and good (not cheap) restaurant.

  Great hotel but 20 minute drive to Leipzig

  My family have visited this hotel regularly for the last ten years but only because my parents live nearby. Zwenkau is not a tourist destination and Leipzig is a good 20-25 minutes away by car. It is close to the Belantis theme park though which is a great day out if you have kids. The area is up and coming though with a new lake and waterfront cafes and restaurants. The hotel is very clean and nicely furnished although in a traditional and some would say outdated style. The staff are superb, extremely friendly and helpful. They cannot do enough for us when we are there. The buffet breakfast is excellent with a vast range of food on offer. The food in the restaurant is also excellent but quite expensive for the area. There is a children's menu. The only real downside, as others have pointed out, is its location opposite an industrial estate with lorries coming and going early in the morning. The noise generally doesn't bother us but if you are a light sleeper I would suggest asking for a room at the back of the hotel. Overall though we love this place!

  Excellent Attention to Guest

  Housekeeping went out of it's way to show us alternatives to the room we were assigned, which resulted in a larger one at a higher rate; well done. Else, breakfast rates are higher for reservations via web portals, and lower if you book direct (at a higher rate), so take your pick. The hotel is in a SME semi-industrial zone, so don't expect pretty environs, and opt for a room to the back, else the roadway may be immediately in front of your window. Room interior is fine, if a bit bland. Even if Reception was very attentive - focus on details in-room could be better: The shower curtain was badly placed, the TV had too few and erratically chosen channels. Small interior pool in the basement. Homely restaurant with too few customers; price may be lacking competitiveness. All in all, this is good if Leipzig hotels, 25 Min. away, are too crowded. Don't miss to visit Kap Zwenkau, 2,5 km away, for views and maybe a bite in the evening. Thanks, we felt well taken care of.
