Service mindedThis two star hotel might has well been a three star. We first got a room next to the reception (no. 10). Very noisy and I did not get much sleep. No problem to change room. Very service minded and friendly staff. The location is great and the breakfast is nice. The rooms are clean and the standard is what you expect from a 2-3 star. Water and coffee in the room. No elevator. The shower is good. Recommended.

Very nice hotel, spoiled by the neighboursMy partner and I stayed here for four nights, 26th to 29th August 2019. Our room was great, spacious, with a spiral staircase up to the bedroom area on the floor above. The hotel is lovely, clean, nicely decorated and retaining some interesting features from the original 'villa'. The staff are friendly and polite. It really does deserve more than it's two star status. However, there was a downside to our stay. The room we had was at the front of the buliding and EVERY night we were disturbed, quite badly, by the noise from the 'Mewa Towarzyska' club above the Tapas Bar oposite the hotel. This was from music played inside and the drunken shouting from people leaving and hanging around outside. The club being open until 5.am!! Our room had double glazing, but even with the windows closed, our sleep was disrupted. I am aware that Sopot has a reputation for a resort that 'never sleeps' but the presence of such a noisy night venue in a quiet residential area seems questionable to say the least. I liked the hotel though, breakfasts were very good with lots of choice. I would advise anyone considering staying here to request a room as far away from the front street as possible if they want a good nights sleep. It's a pity that such a nice place is spoiled by the prescence of a totally inconsidrate nearby business

Loved this cosy placeFirst things first. Its our first visit to Poland and theres no downsides of note. I say so as we found only a few folk rude, surprisingly in a kebab joint and a cafe in Sopot - the hospitality industry - but thats likely cultural as often we are polite through gritted teeth ourselves, so hypocrisy recognised Sopot is a real gem of a place and a base to tour this part of Poland. We visited Gdask and Gdynia too. The train station is under 10 minutes uphill walk from Sedan. We chose Sopot as its a sea side place and it was the end of the summer season. The Sedan hotel is quaint. It is also genuinely charming. Charming also describes all the staff we met on our 7 nights here. It wasnt a long enough stay really. You do need a level of physical fitness for this hotel as there are steps into it, there isnt a lift and the staircase is quite steep. We were fortunate on arrival that the chap who checked us in, very quickly, also took our cases to the 1st floor quickly too. Breakfast food here is first class, especially as Im a fish lover. Theres herrings & mackerel on offer daily with cress and tangy pickles. My wife isnt a lover of such briny, vinegary things but theres lots for her to enjoy including scrambled eggs, ham, cheeses, jams, yoghurts, cakes and pancakes. They bake their own breads too but their white loaf wasnt to our taste as its dry, open textured and coarse but thats personal taste. We observed plenty of guests eating copious amounts of it with butter so were in the minority here. The breakfast coffee machine has an umbilical milk tube feeding into it for cappuccino, it also offers espresso and black coffee as it wheezes, grinds and then it eventually splutters out good coffee; if it were a human the sounds it makes at work would easily burn off hundreds of calories. It kept breaking down and it was retired on our second last day. Our 1st floor room had two cosy single beds. It was a small room with a separate shower room with a shower thats even smaller than on Norwegian cruise ships. If you are thin you should be ok. Im not. Still we managed just fine but there is a caution here as the temperature on the shower is finely set: a slight twist of the handle either way and its quickly scalding or cold. So beware you dont accidentally knock against it - a mistake you wont make twice. The prevailing noise outside our room was seagulls crying with the odd crow caw. Theres in-room coffee & tea but no milk and tv and air con we didnt use. The hotel offers 2 course lunches at 35 pz a person. We did try to get lunch but the day we did they only had chicken as they were waiting on a delivery so that was that. The hotel also houses a Thai massage parlour (see photo) separate entrance so it was our first port of call day 1 but they dont offer traditional Thai massages. We found this strange so we went elsewhere, just a five minute walk away. So we enjoyed a great stay and its a 5 star place all the way.
