Nice breakfast and position to the castle and centerStaff. Very gentle informative and gives good service when in reception. Gives good parking directions to hotelparking lot. The room was without aircon. But an amazing view to the castle and city center. Position of the hotel is appr. 500 m from rathaus. A city with many hotels and sights, cafes and restaurants. Try the Hartz smallbahnspur zug with the kids. And see the castle. The hotel is nice old building with historic surrounding areas. The walls were beatifull covered with fe and not tree some places at the room. Also a fresh scent of coco oil in the stairs to the rooms. The room was quite spacius and has everything you need. A silent stay with a nice breakfast. A bit noissy from cartraffic as you are in the center of the town.

Great Location & Room Size But more a Bed & Breakfast than a Hotel! The location is excellent, with good access to both the castle, walks in the Harz and the town centre. However, and it is a very big 'but': the pros of this 'hotel' are greatly outweighed by a very poorly delivered product. We stayed for four nights and the score just dropped the longer stayed. The room was large and airy but no nets - meaning either close all the curtains or remain fully clothed. The en-suite was worse, no misted glass, and the only window coverings were hanging blinds - yes the type you get in an office!!! The situation was made worse by very poor lighting. No shaver light, just two small spot lights that shone onto the mirror making it very difficult to shave by. But, it gets worse... none of the management spoke to us until we checked out Sunday morning. The house was like the Marie Celeste during the day with only the cleaning staff were in evidence - who were very polite, warm and kept the place spotless. Breakfast is very disappointing for a German Hotel - we live in Germany and visit many. On two of the four mornings there was no place set for us and no staff on duty! We had to wait ten minutes for this to be remedied on Sunday. Cereals, meats and bread runs out and are not replaced. It is just very shoddy and not what a three star should be. Finally, the only lounge area is a closed bar which the smokers use so unpleasant for those who don't enjoy tobacco. Given the lack of visible management, the lack of facilities and the lack of care for detail this Schlossblick does not deserve the title 'hotel' let alone three stars. At 98 euros a night is was expensive for what was on offer and we could never recommend it.

Charming little country style hotelHotel Schlossblick is centrally located close to the historic old town. Train station can be reached within a 20 minutes walk. Some rooms offer a beautiful view to the Wernigerode castle. Great breakfast with a variety of vegetarian friendly choices. We particularly liked that jam, butter etc are not packed in plastic which helps to avoid plastic garbage. Wifi connection was not always stable. Hotel has a sauna available for guests, but as we didn't use it we cannot comment on this. It's not the fanciest hotel, but a very nice and cozy place with friendly staff in a picturesque town.

Cozy hotel with a soulStayed here for 2 nights. And really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was very friendly, although their English was limited. But that wasn't an issue, with my limited German and their limited English we figured it all out. Our room was really big, and clean. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was good. We went for the free street parking for our car, but if you are to arrive in high season I would recommend to reserve parking through the hotel. Also if you are to arrive after 18 make sure to call the hotel so they can send you the late arrival information. It worked perfectly for us. Also it is at a good location to everything in the city.
