    unique environment former manor

Great to relax. Excellent wines and a waiter who can give you great advices-you only have to ask him if you are not familiar with the wines. The food has become again not only good - sometimes it has been just above average- but outstanding excellent.

Second time back for a super relaxing stay

A top of the line oasis amid forest and meadows. Food is outstanding , so is the service. Everything seems arranged for your enjoyment. Nights are peaceful and quiet. There are beautiful walks all around. I will be back , if I get the chance.

Very nice location, nice hotel and great restaurant

We stayed there for 4 nights ( couple plus dog) and enjoyed our stay. The Location is very quiet (About 30 minutes away from Eisenach), lovely for walks. Rooms are a bit small and hotel Lobby with open fireplace Needs newer furniture. Staff very friendly and helpful. We did not eat at their flagship Restaurant but on the terrace. Great Quality of Food, friendly Service. No complaints About Food (dinner and breakfast).

The staff is charming - the place not

As others have reported, we cannot understand how this place ever qualified as a Relais Châteaux. We thought rooms would be in the manor house on the property but it is closed. The large lawn has not been cleaned by gardeners in a long time. The modern buildings where rooms and restaurants are located are sad and drab. We too were shown to the suite ( junior suite rather a large room) with its covered terrasse and view on the parking lot. The bathroom has been recently redone and had a large shower stall and natural light, the WiFi was strong. The rest: 80 style tobacco leather sofas, somewhat antique writing table, blah furniture. The only character of the room situated in a modern rectangular building was its ceiling/ roof shaped with lots of windows but no curtains. The reception kindly offered sleeping masks. The temperature was in the 30 Celsius and fans did not help. We left after an hour. The personnel was very gracious and understanding. The real manor house on the property may be renovated next year. Until it is: do not go there.

    Teleurstellend

Dear Hotel, I feel the need to speak out about some critical points we have, about our weekend staying at your Hotel. I do not want to share this on the internet but rather share it with you directly. The first evening in the Grill restaurant we found out that the servant did not have matching wines, he advised me a bottle which was far to light for the dish/meal (Grauburgunder 11,5%). There were no open wines? The tartare with truffel and lever was super! The minced meat from deer was advised to me but I found it disappointing. When we came for our breakfast, the same person told us that breakfast was almost done, I had to remind him that it was Saturday and that it closes at 11 o clock. He brought me to a round table outside where the linnen was dirty, he did not replace it. Then he brought us an incomplete food platter. I had to ask a few times for butter, I had to ask him for an egg and the tableware was not complete. We did not feel welcome. Our diner in La Vallee Verte was also a little dissapointing. We found out that 2 colleagues were involved in a car accident and that is of course difficult to solve, we understand that. When I told the reception what we wanted to eat, I told her that we wanted to have a 5 course menu with paring wines and that was no problem. But when we were in the restaurant there where no paring wines, so we had to choose a bottle which is difficult with all the several courses. There was also no knowledge of wine, by nobody. For me a Michelin star restaurant the wine should be as good as the food! We also have to wait a long time between the courses. The concept what the Chef stands for is of course very appealing and what he believes in! But the courses could be more challenging and creative for me. The setting of the Hotel is amazing and we really enjoyed it and we felt welcome by the most staff! Kind regards,
