Excellent holidayWe cannot fault this hotel ; the staff, the proximity of the sea, the cleanliness, the organisation, the atmosphere, the food. The staff were always friendly and couldn't do more for you. The rooms were clean, the view fantastic, the towels in the bathroom were changed and the room cleaned every day. It was exactly what we wanted - a quiet relaxing restful holiday - even more that we could have hoped for. The food was good with plenty of choice catering to many nationalities. A choice of a bottle of red or white wine was served with lunch and dinner. The organisation of Thalasso was excellent for the pick up and return. Excellent.

Cheating on its own guestsOne thing is undeniable - hotel location is fabulous. Directly on by the sandy beach. Unfortunately standard of the room doesn't match the location. Hotel equipment is very old. "Sardinian" style means extremely minimal. No carpet on the floor, very limited furniture (no place to unpack your stuff), uncomfortable bed and small bathroom with poorly working shower. But the most important is air conditioning. It's 30 years old. Really! It smells awfully and is unable to really cool the air - what could be a problem when there are 38C during the day and 28C during the night. Because the hotel standard is so low they try to make additional money by selling places in their garden (umbrellas) to external guests. As a result hotel guests dont have enough umbrellas for them. There is one umbrella per room (about 40 rooms) but as 10-15 of them are sold to external guests there is a sprint run every morning for a place to stay. It's simply cheating on its own guests!!! Im not only disappointed by the stay at San Paolo but instead of enjoying my vacation I had to fight with hotel staff about umbrellas, air conditioning and tables in restaurant (also the best ones were reserved for people from outside the hotel!). Unacceptable. Highly not recommended place!!!

Poor experienceWe stayed in this hotel on a week vacation, and it was a big disappointment. The sea and the surroundings are beautiful, the staff is also lovely, but the hotel is ancient, noisy and stale and should have been renovated. The biggest disappointment was the food. Who on Earth wants to eat hamburgers and mashed potatoes in Sardinia? No seafood, poor pasta, low variety. Its our 3rd stay in Sardinia, and it was great so far. I would recommend not to choose 3-stars hotels at all. This hotel is either for retired people or families with small children who do not expect much.

bad structurelocation right in front of the beach, theres a garden with tanning beds and chairs with beach umbrella included. structure its falling down, theres broken shutters and windows everywhere, i told them the ones in my room were broken and they didnt do anything about it. there is A LOOOOTTT OF HUMIDITY, your sheets will be soaking wet, and also your clothes food there is choice but the quality has some major issues. i found a hair in my carbonara pasta, i told 2 waiters and they didnt do anything about it. i expected some typical Sardinia dishes but we would only eat northern food. the food was recycled the most of the times, which is good for environment but not good for hygiene and fish bacteria. at breakfast we were able to get soy milk cappuccinos and gluten free bread so its recommended for people with allergies. you need to wear a mask everytime you go get food inside. room well placed furniture, we had a smart tv, i recommend bringing your own hairdryer because the one in the room doesnt dry your hair at all and the huge amount of humidity does NOT help. our shower door was broken too, we told them and they didnt do anything about it. the WC was detached from the floor and we told them but they didnt do anything about it. staff really kind and sweet, they werent problematic, and they made me feel comfortable, which i really loved for my social awkwardness, they always respected the security distance and they kept their mask on. cleaning i didnt know they change your towels once every two days, and once i put my face towel on the floor and they literally picked it up and put it in place as new, a FACE towel. the bathroom floor is always wet and the moist in the air doesnt let it dry so you will fall like a salami on the floor. the closet stinks weird. the glasses were always dirty and we had to tell them, you could tell the waiters were kinda bothered, which, uhm, chile... im sorry about it but with covid around i cant drink from a dirty glass. the hair in the carbonara i mentioned before made me think the cook probably didnt have an hair cap on. they told us they spray sanitizer on the tanning beds at evening but i honestly i never seen them do it, i recommend getting a reserved spot on in the garden with your own tanning bed and chair. i really think if there was somebody with covid the whole hotel would get infected and thats not good.
