  The hotel is in the outskirts of the village of Palinuro, about 2 hours south of Naples. It is a favourite haunt of Italians with very few British. Everyone was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Didn't like the menu for dinner? No problem; there were always alternatives thatched would prepare. Late for breakfast? No problem ; would you like eggs? The hotel is modern and clean with delightful rooms. Great and friendly staff. And, if you want a hotel that is on the beach then head for the Saline. It has its own beach with plentiful parasols and beach chairs ; indeed, each room has a dedicated parasol so there's no need to nip down at 6am with a towel to nab your place. If you have children there's a great kids' club with great and friendly staff. There's even a shuttle bus service to take you into the village although the short walk of 1.5 k is very do - able! We had a wonderful and relaxing time and would certainly recommend the Saline.

  Our lovely holiday

  Our only moan is that the children's entertainment in the bar didn't finish until 1030. We found the staff were very professional and pleasant and the food really lovely. We will return! It was a good idea to allocate sun beds and tables in the restaurant.

  Lovely, just what was needed!

  The hotel is lovely, quite simple with clean white walls filled with pictures and splashes of blue that add to a nautical feel, We had a room on the side on the 5th floor (top) overlooking the greenery below and a side view of the port and the sea. It was preferable to the other side as there is a half finished building which obscures the view somewhat. We wanted rest and relaxation and this was just what we got. The sun loungers, parasol and table on the beach are yours for the duration - what a great idea! The beach was lovely and sandy and just there in front of the hotel, only a pity that the sea bed is rocky and difficult for bathing in especially as the sea was so clear and warm. We loved the half board meal plan - very simple, Italian - good food , plenty of it and a good selection - if you didn't want was on the menu that night you could always have pizza from their wood fired oven.. but we often shared one of those and a salad for lunch at the little beach side bar. The staff were friendly courteous and a credit to the hotel - thank you to them all especially Camino who we enjoyed talking football too. There were mainly Italian families here but that didn't bother us - it was good for peple watching. The nearby port of Palinuro is near enough for a walk - though there is a shuttle bus if needed and although we planned to take a boat trip it didn't materialise due to a thunderstorm... maybe next time. Although it is a long way from Naples to the hotel - approx. 2 o 2 and a half hours from Naples, our trip was fascinating and all credit to our holiday company Fleetway for seemless transfers and flights. Great value for sun sea and relaxation

  A relaxing holiday

  Have just spent 9 days at Hotel Saline. Our sea view room with small balcony on 4th floor was extremely comfortable & beautifully clean. The hotel staff were all very helpful & efficient. A good variety of food was available although some fresh bread for breakfast would have been welcomed. The evening children's club in the bar area was a bit intrusive on adults relaxation and could be relocated as indoor bar was usually empty. The allocation of sunbeds per room was an ideal amenity. The view of sunset was amazing. Altogether a wonderful holiday venue.Grazie mille.

  lovely hotel in a gorgeous loaction

  This is a very good family hotel, in a perfect location - one of the loveliest coast strips in the region, directly on the sea. Rooms are spacious but the furniture is not new. The terrace is just wonderful, with a breathtaking view over the bay. There are 2 swimming pools of different depth, ideal for all children. The kids club and animation are of a very good level for a small, human-sized structure like this. You need to buy rock shoes to access the sea, as there is a 100m rocky bottom before getting into the open. The sea is really beautiful for swimmers, but not ideal for little children. Food is great all along. Finally, Palinuro is a strategic base for a number of cultural visits (Certosa of Padula, Peastum, Velia, Teggiano, ....) and beautiful boat trips (including diving). A car is recommended. Covid comment: the level of compliance with the Covid guidelines is very high across the whole hotel (we still feel for the pizzaiolo in front of the wood oven baking pizzas with a face mask at lunch time with 32 degrees...). I would however dare make a suggestion: given the outdoor space, why serving dinner indoor?
