  Good value for money - give it a try

  First impressions of this hotel are not great - the grounds need some TLC and the reception desk asks you to ring a bell for attention. However the small rooms are clean and the food is plentiful. We spent a week there demi-pension while house hunting in July. We enjoyed eating outside in their attractive tree shaded area next to the pool. The owners work very hard and do their best. The swimming pool is pleasant. The hotel is just outside St Etienne - a brisk 20 minute walk. It was popular with bikers and cyclists and is surrounded by spectacular walking country. We found the other guests friendly and enjoyed several extended conversations over drinks. The rooms do not have TVs but wifi is available in the hotel free. There is a TV in the lounge area. Plenty of information on things to do is available and Madame was full of enthusiasm for the area.

  Ideal Base for wildlife holiday in Provence

  We were a group of 12 with Greenwings (www.greenwings.co) on a butterfly holiday led by Tristan and Tatiana Le Franchis. The hotel was well situated for our daily trips out into the beautiful countryside of Provence. We were well set up for the day with a delicious breakfast of warm bread and croissants, fruit, yoghourt etc and good beverages. Most days we ate breakfast outside and enjoyed the sights and sounds of local birds. Excellent picnic lunches including a tasty salad and good quality fruit were provided eachday. It was great to have a dip in the pool after a hot day out too before enjoying the evening meal. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Not a luxury hotel but very clean and comfortable. Nice rural walks straight from the hotel. Small pleasant village quite close too. l
