  Great if you are driving

  The rooms are clean, large (by Japanese standards) and well appointed. There is free wifi which is well fast enough for browsing, uploading photos etc. The provided breakfast buffet had a good choice of western (though not cereal) and Japanese foods. This doubles as restaurant for dinner (not tried). The staff were all friendly and helpful when needed. I would say that overall the hotel exceeded my expectations for the price. The main disadvantage of the hotel is location. It is probably 2km or so from the station and centre of town. The castle is a bit of a walk away (but not too. far - I did it). The atea around the hotel has things like car-yards, some tyre shops, large drug stores etc. There are some local dining options close by but I suspect greater choice close to the centre of town. On the other hand if you ate driving, there is a large, free car park.

  Very recommended hotel!

  Local small hotel, rated maybe 3 to 4 stars but is warmly recommended. Staff are helpful and some can communicate with basic English. The hotel is located near restaurants, shops, about 15 mins walk from the highway and 15 mins by taxi to the city train station. Room is a bit small but in Japanese terms I guess OK. Small but nice breakfast, a bonus is the hotel onsen- in cold days the hot water is very relaxing. Free parking and wifi as well.

  Solid hotel

  We stayed one night but were grateful for the room as I had made a booking mistake. It is your typical Route Inn with a small room and in our case a very small bed (120cm) for two adults. Bathroom is very small, but we use the public bath to wash. Breakfast is the standard offer and is provides a solid start for the day. Internet fast and parking free. The key is still a metal thing with a number which you have to hand in when leaving the hotel.
