ROOMS WITH A DIFFERENCEOlder style hotel. Rooms are rather small with the bathroom, tiny, small to say the least, having a large step to get up into. There is a very deep tiny bath. Nowhere to put your luggage but on the floor. Beds are hard and the pillows are filled with a hard seed type substance. This did not distract from a good night's sleep. The big plus is free ground coffee in the lobby.

Old Style Hotel But Quite Satisfactory for PurposeOur tour group of 35 arrived late afternoon at this hotel and were greeted with 1 quite slow lift to our rooms. On arrival to our room we discovered another Japanese style rather small room with 2 single beds which were unbelievably hard unfortunately, a small table and 2 chairs, small bar fridge, and old style flat screen tv, and a typical very small but practical bathroom. The view from our room was over the local main road, shops, and rooftops but a distant view to the mountains behind the town gave us a beautiful morning view after overnight snow had fallen. The breakfast area was adequate and again catered for Japanese and Western tastes but was reasonably limited but adequate. The hotel advertised evening meals in the dining room but were turned away for some strange reason. We went to the steak restaurant next which was great value and the food and beers fantastic. This is a budget hotel which serves its purpose and as such I would recommend this hotel as a stopover hotel only to recharge the batteries.

Stench of Stale Cigarettes Throughout....We were in a Trip-a-deal group traveling in late April and had to stay at this Hotel. We were allocated a room on the 3rd floor. The stench of stale cigarette smoke hits you immediately after exiting the elevator and continues into the room. If you have any respiratory condition this floor is not for you. Some of the other guests requested an immediate room change. We simply opened the window and went out to dinner. As other reviews have mentioned, this is a stop over Hotel only and the later you arrive and the earlier you leave will dramatically improve your experience.

Dont Recommend...Tiny bathroom with a big step up. Basic buffet breakfast with not much Western food. Room is small... only a little bit of room for cases. Bed is hard like a board and had to ask for extra pillows. Lots of USB charging points. Seems to be a rest stop for tour groups and hikers.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed inWe stayed here one night on a recent bus tour of Japan. There were 40 of us and only one tiny lift which only accommodated 4 people with luggage so it took over 30 minutes for us to access our room after a long day of travelling. The room was very small which is typical in Japan but the bed was so firm it was impossible to get comfortable to sleep. The bathroom was also compact. Breakfast was a total disappointment. There were cold boiled eggs which we thought would be good but were only partially cooked so inedible. I understand that the Japanese eat eggs this way but there was not an alternative for westerners. The only positives were USB chargers in the room and an English map of local restaurants when the reception staff finally found it. There must be better options in this area so avoid this hotel.
