  Good business hotel to stay in near other onsens and the Lake Suwa

  The hotel was recommended to me. I stayed in a two twin bed room, which I believe was a little larger that the normal single room. It was large in comparison with most Japanese hotels. Free wi-fi and 32" HD TV. The bathroom was decent sized. The breakfast is pretty good, but a limited selection for me, as I'm vegetarian. There is an onsen on-site, and the hot spring water here is some the best I've ever experienced. A short walk to the lake. Quiet neighborhood with a Family Mart nearby. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel.

  Good value, Good location, Convenient

  Suwa city, an old city transformed into modern city. A good place to relax,! out of bustling Shinjuku, a 2 hr train ride. The hotel is few minutes walk from the station, and few minutes to Lake Suwa. A walk around the lake is a must, about 16 km perimeter

  Asked to wait in the cold

  After checkout, we were waiting in the lobby for our Japanese friend who was getting his bicycle fixed before we took off to Narai. The hotel staff asked us to wait outside in the cold coz they were going to clean the lobby. This is rather unuaual for a hotel. How can they refuse guest in the lobby n ask them to wait in the cold outside. Very disappointed in the service.

  The hotel is a standard 3 star hotel. There is nothing exceptional about the hotel. The staff are pleasant. There is a breakfast available albeit a little strange. The lake is a 2minute walk and there are restaurants about ten minutes away. Not much in the direct vicinity.

  Average hotel

  This hotel is pretty basic and would be the equivalent of a Travelodge. Breakfast is provided between 6 and 9.30 but their are no restaurant facilities or bar here. There is however a vending machine that serves drinks. The hotel rooms are pretty basic but do include a TV, a fridge and tea making facilities. It also included bath and shower gel, shampoo and conditioner plus toothbrushes etc. It is by no means an international hotel. The staff here speak very little English.
