Very quiet and cleanI may only recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, its quiet situation, only 5 minutes from the lake, its modern furniture in the rooms, the kindness of the staff etc. The only point that is less positive: not many places on the hotel parking.

What a Disappointment! On arrival at Hotel Rosa all looked fine, but as the saying goes Dont judge a book by its cover. We travelled in a group & this hotel failed miserably to come up to standard. There was a litany of complaints which were not attended to fully & to the manager this was like water off a ducks back! One of the main failings was quality/quantity/choice of food. Breakfast was definitely below par. The items on offer were of the cheapest quality, 'plastic' cheeses, cheap salamis, basic tinned fruit cocktail, a little under-ripe fresh fruit & on occasion stale cakes. The only hot food available was boiled eggs & the toasters were not working properly. We had to subsidize our breakfasts each morning with bananas which we purchased ourselves. Evening meals were completely sub standard & very, very basic. There were only two choices on starters & main courses, which was really disappointing for a supposed 4 star hotel. We just could not believe what was on offer! What was meant to pass as chicken or pork was tasteless & highly processed, tiny portions of potato & not a vegetable in sight! Starters were ok which were either soups or pasta, but desserts were not even worth using the plates for, as we were given only a finger of whatever was on for that day & again no difference in taste from day to day. After a couple of days negotiating we got a little extra potato & one vegetable per night (& one night real chicken) but still not all was satisfactory. There were many other issues, which may seem small, but when added together they made for great discontentment among our group. Our room was very cold as there was no heat (air conditioning was malfunctioning) The 'heated' towel rails in the bathrooms & the fridges in all rooms were turned off at the mains in each room & there was a sign on the mains stating It is prohibited to touch. The fan in our bathroom was running non-stop for two consecutive nights which was really disturbing. We were told the reason was it sensed the humidity in the bathroom, as the walls were full of condensation for hours on end, even during the day. When we asked for the 3rd time to have it sorted it was eventually changed to a quieter fan, but still it ran constantly. There were kettles in the rooms but no cups/saucers/tea/coffee. Of particular importance is safety & the hotel is not really suitable for older people. The hotel is like a maze & there are endless steps in all areas, which was of particular concern in the dining area for people collecting hot drinks at breakfast time. The public areas were also cold, which was not pleasant at either breakfast or dinner time. Everything was done on the cheap here & it was so disappointing! Hotel Rosa tried to economize all the way, but this penny pinching & mean-mindedness does not pay in the long run. There was also a skeleton staff for the duration of our stay, which meant some had finished their meals while others at the same table had not even been served, & staffing was cut even further on our last day there. The only good points were the staff, which were nice & friendly & the rooms were pristinely maintained daily by a great team. So this is the only reason we gave any stars!

Great accommodation for priceI spent a lot of time searching for a reasonably priced hotel in the area with modern renovated rooms (I cant stand staying at old european hotels that havent been renovated in the past 25 years). Hotel Rosa ended up being a perfect fit for what I was looking for. The hotel is not a 5 star accommodation but for the price range that I payed, it was a great find and I would certainly recommend it. I originally booked only one night, but once there, I decided to add an additional 2 nights to the stay. The room was very clean and comfortable with a normal modern bathroom. Breakfast was simple but standard in my opinion for hotels in this price range in Italy. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. As other reviews said, there were small numbers of stairs between public areas of the hotel (reception, lobby, breakfast area, parking...) so the hotel would not be ideal for guest who have problems with stairs, although this is no problem for the average traveler. I was located on the ground floor and the train did not bother me at all - it was barely audible over the noise of the air conditioning.

Excellent Confort with a good price tagHi traveler, my wife and I traveled to this hotel on a non-peak weekend and we found it comfortable to stay in. For a reasonable price, you have all you need. Reception staff are helpful is making recommendation and the parking is also ok if you are arriving by car.
