  The best meal we had in Rauris

  We came here just to have dinner. It was the best meal we had in Rauris. The menu offers a wide selection of typical local dishes and services is fast and good. Value for money is great. The restaurant section is not the most cosy I have seen, but the food is just great.

  Nice friendly hotel

  Stayed here and was quite impressed generally. Restaurant service was excellent and very friendly. Food ok. Salad bar was alright, but more variety on a daily basis would have been better, and too much stuff from tins. Rooms a little tired, bit clean. My main gripe is that smoking was allowed just outside the restaurant area, which permiated upstairs, and when I arrived, there was a thick fog in reception which was v off putting. Beware of the church bells opposite the hotel, particularly the 0600 hrs chiming which go on for ever!

  Fantastic meal

  We just dropped in to see if they had a table and a very nice young lady, dressed traditional costume, showed us straight to a table, in a quaint little room. The room was also decorated traditionally, lovely. We both enjoyed an excellent, substantial meal. We had the snitzel and mixed meat platter from the grill. I was able to help myself to the fresh salad, which was a great accompaniment to the meal. After a considerable break we indulged in the kaisersmarrm with compote, which was absolutely gorgeous but could not finish it. The waitress was very helpful and pleasant.

  Quality food

  We had a very enjoyable evening here. Good quality food and lovely wine. We had a Wilderer Pfanne and a Platzwirt Pfandl and salad from the buffet. Delicious. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. We have booked to eat here again during our stay in Rauris.

  Fantastic accommodation and staff.

  We booked a family room last minute. How lucky we were to book the Platzwirt. Our room was clean and had an amazing view of the valley. We arrived at 9:30pm and received a warm welcome. The location of the hotel meant we could walk into the centre of the town. The spa room was just big enough and family friendly. Breakfast was delicious and all the food was plentiful. Fresh Semmel buns in the morning made a great start to the day. The variety of cooked meat, eggs and yummy bacon on the last day kept the whole family happy. Planning to return next year as this is a hidden gem.
