Great Spot in BeaujolaisWe loved this stay. Friendly and welcoming staff, clean rooms, and beautiful views. The restaurant was fabulous and so convenient to walk down from our room. High quality food and great wine list with the local wines which we loved. Take a drive through the villages. You won't regret it!

Lovely hotel, really wonderful restaurantWe stayed overnight in Hotel La Rose and were most surprised about both hotel but certainly the restaurant. We had such excellent food for reasonable prices. The service was excellent, the young staff always attentive. The hotel has recently been renovated - good bathrooms, nice decor and nice bedrooms. We would certainly travel to Julienas again just to have the privilege to eat there.

A perfect stopover on our way through FranceWe stayed at La Rose in the beautiful village of Julienas on our way down to the south of France. We were welcomed by very friendly staff and taken to our room which was in an nearby annex building. This suited us well as the room was spacious and gave us plenty of room for our travel cot and baby gear. It was our first stay in a hotel following lockdown and we were very impressed with the cleanliness and precautions in place. All the staff were wearing masks but still managed to maintain a friendly presence. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed the setting with the terrace looking out on to the rolling Beaujolais hills. We both enjoyed the well executed food and S even tried local Burgundian snails for the first time. There were some good and well priced wine options naturally focusing on the local area. This was also Baby As very first holiday and he seemed to enjoy his stay. The peace and quiet of the village meant we all slept very well ahead of the following days drive. Both the village and hotel are very peaceful and although perhaps as a result not an obvious choice for some families, we were made to feel very welcome and very comfortable there. No one seemed to bat an eyelid when Baby A occasionally decided to disturb the peace. Our stop was only a brief one but we would recommend La Rose to all; whether it be overnight or for a longer stay exploring this beautiful part of France.

Mixed viewsWe stayed here on our way back to Luxembourg from Nice. Very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and we were warmly welcomed on arrival. The room was very spacious and nicely turned out and the bed was extremely comfortable. We were very pleased and looked forward to a gourmet meal in the restaurant. This is where we had mixed views unfortunately. The menu, although limited looked very tempting and we both chose the noix st Jacques tiède for starter. The st Jacques were fridge cold and when we queried the waiter his reply was that that is how they should be. They were very tasty served on veg with orange sauce but as we were expecting ´tiède ´ we were a little disappointed. The steak Rossini which my husband ordered was perfectly charred on the outside and rose and deliciously tender on the inside as requested and topped off with a whole fois gras instead of fois gras pâté. Complément au chef pour lexcellence de ce plat. I took the chicken which was a little dry but the mushroom sauce was very tasty. Unfortunately each dish was served with macaroni cheese!!!!! I have never even been offered macaroni cheese as a side in any good restaurant outside of the USA. When we asked the waiter could we have potatoes instead we were informed that no the only option is macaroni cheese. We were quite taken aback but let it go. As we guessed, the macaroni cheese was like sludge and took away from what otherwise was a very enjoyable meal. The red wine was excellent les capitaines julienas at 40 euros for a bottle. Would we return? Absolutely. We would love to try another menu but please have a traditional side instead of macaroni cheese
