  Tranquilo, hermoso y aislado

  El edificio es importante, clasico alpino a pesar de ser una construccion de solo 5 anios. Las habitaciones no son enormes pero si mky comodas y calidas,a lgunas con techo a dos aguas. Muuuucha madera, muy grato. La comida es excelente. Buenas carnes y mejores pastas. Excelente pizza. Un parque muy cuidado y una piscina grande y comoda. La unica salvedad: esta aislado y en fondo del valle, cerca de la vieja estacion de tren. de Gamberale: 16 kilometros hacia abajo en un camino de montania endiablado y en muy mal estado. La referencia por ruta es St. Angelo del Pesco. Para un fin de semana romantico: excelente. Para visitar el Abruzzo: alejado.

  Beautiful hotel, lovely staff, pretty location

  We came to Italy for a New Year Skiing trip and had a great stay. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable- they really couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The owner drove us to/from Roccaraso ski slopes every day and we enjoyed a drink and snacks in the lounge area when we returned. The room was clean, a good size, warm and well decorated. Rooms were cleaned daily. We ate in the restaurant several times and were very happy with the food and prices. The hotel is a little isolated from shops, restaurants etc. but Castel di sangro is not far away and the area is stunning for walking or cycling- we enjoyed the quiet! The spa facility is great- wish we'd had more time to use it more frequently, a lovely retreat!

  From Magnifico to Meh

  I will be blunt. I truly feel like we were treated as outsiders when we went in for dinner a few weeks ago. Let me preface this review by saying that I have been going to Borrello for the past 26 years to visit my dad's family, and we have been to Villa Danilo on MANY occasions and really enjoyed it. But this time was different. I was asked if we had reservations, when I said no, the waiter looked almost horrified and I looked around the near empty restaurant. We were then sat on the far side of the room, away from the bar and far away from everyone else. Didn't realize this until we left. Anyway. We ordered promptly, which was good, but our food was not. Everyone except me got pizza and I got a salad. My salad was good, but that doesn't take too much effort. The pizza, however, was undercooked, flavorless, and one or two of the pies were like puddles because of the mozzarella. Once we ate, it took about 20 minutes for our places to be cleared and then another 20 minutes for ONE espresso and ONE coffee. My dad had just driven 8 hours from Milan and he was so fed up and exhausted that he almost just put cash on the table and walked out. Thankfully the waiter brought over the check (and took off the coffee and espresso) after waiting forever and we left and will never go back. The least he could have done was actually APOLOGIZE. Ridiculous. I am extremely upset because this was one of the more decent places to eat in the area and now we won't be going back. Years ago we had a great experience with the owner, whom my dad actually knows his cousin over here in Philly, so I really don't want to be so negative, but the owner should be aware of how his customers are being treated. You can check my profile, I hardly write poor reviews. I usually never even mention if I have a bad experience because it is not worth my time. But this could not be left to chance. I really hope this place gets its act together.

  Excellent relaxing holiday

  We had just a couple of days in this nice hotel, this is probably the most relaxing location you can find in the area, close enough to the most attractive amenities of the area, such as sky tracks in Roccaraso. Very friendly staff and good food, price is ok.

  Excellent!!

  What an amazing stay we had! The hotel is absolutely beautiful! The rooms are cozy and charming. Everything was so clean and kept meticulously. The food in the restaurant was beyond delicious!! As far as the staff goes, the service was outstanding and friendly! We cannot wait to return to this hotel.
