  Nice stay

  Just returned from a relaxing week staying at Velvet Sunset at end of our trip to Southern India. We had one of the four beach fronted rooms which were very nice; comfortable bed, open shower/bathroom (but only cold water) and verandah to sit out and watch the world. The food here is excellent and good value and we opted to eat here throughout our stay. Velvet Sunset is located at the north end of Agonda beach so it is very quiet and peaceful (although when the dogs get started at night it can be annoying!). The beach is very clean (unlike many beaches in Goa) and people come along regularly to pick up the rubbish and flotsam and jetsome. Staff are nice and attentive but not over-bearing. Juices were lovely, especially watermelon and mint. The other rooms are extremely basic and would, in my opinion, leave a lot to be desired. Wifi can be intermittent and they do change the password without telling you! Power also can go off, but doesn't seem to stop them cooking. There are basic beach beds but only a couple of rather old umbrellas, but you can always get shade if necessary. Wonderful sunsets as the name implies!

  Good Location, Poor service

  We had the beach Front bungalows with AC and Open bathroom. Good condition and awesome view on the sea. Location is really cosy and quiet as it is located at the North end of Agonda beach. Problem is the poor almost unprofessional staff work: Street dogs in the restaurant, long waiting time for food/beverages, meals and drinks not served as ordered, dirty tables, sloppy cleaning of house-keeping, no sunshades at the beach, dog poo next to beach huts, etc.

  First trip to Goa, India EVER!

  We have stayed in Velvet Sunset for one week, and our trip was just AMAZING! We lived in the front beach hut, so we could enjoy the INCREDIBLE BEAUTIFUL sunrises and sunsets. The location is just amazing, the stuff is SUPER FRIENDLY, and the owners - are GREAT! They have helped us with renting bike, and also have recommended all the most popular and interesting places around. The room was clean and neat, we have had all the necessary stuff inside. And because of that our trip and staying in Velvet Sunset was really great!

  Not great

  Very basic huts fine for some people but not for all. Little info on check in, staff friendly enough, they're very laid back and overcharged us on checkout. Bathroom not very nice and had no hot water also the electricity kept cutting out. The beach and surrounding area are amazing though. Booked online so knew we would be paying over the odds a bit but we got a much nicer hut down the road for a similar price.

  Interesting palce

  This is an amazing place in south of goa. Agonda is one of the best beaches in Goa, and this resort is right by the beach. The view is amazing and the rates are also reasonable. We didnnt eat there so cant comment on the food. Overall a great place ti stay in south goa
