  An Adventure All Round with Delicious Regional Cuisine

  Hotel SantUberto, Loc. Piloni 58036 Roccastrada At the end of May, 2015, we stayed at Hotel Sant Uberto in the heart of the beautiful countryside of Maremma, Grosseto, Toscana, Italy. The hotel is situated in a forest glade of the rolling countryside full of vineyards, olive groves, cypress and chestnut trees. My husband discovered this lovely, unique place through E-bay. He was looking for accommodation near the Taro Garden of Nika de Saint-Phalle and came across Hotel Sant Uberto and bought the coupon which included a buffet breakfast and 3 course dinner. The meals were delicious specialties of the region prepared by the Chef, Luca Petinari. And the service was outstanding and attentive. The wine of the area: excellent! Over 10 years I have dreamt of visiting the Taro Garden, giant mosaic sculptures, towers and a shiny, glittery house made of mirror shards created by the French artist, Nika de Saint-Phalle, (1930-2002), who is known for her colorful Nanas. The Giardino dei Tarocchi is not far away from Hotel Sant Uberto, perhaps an hour and ½ to drive by car. It is quite near the village, Capalbio and the Mediterranean Sea. The closest town to the hotel is a picturesque village, Roccastrada with enchanting winding narrow streets. Sienna is to the north, perhaps an hour away. A large outdoor pool was available as well as a wellness area with fitness equipment. The entire staff was friendly, generous and helpful. Hotel Sant Uberto is a wonderful place to relax and recuperate as well as enjoy outdoor activities like biking, hiking and walking.

  Very hotel outside the city of Roccastrada

  A relative small and simple but very nice hotel close to the city of Roccastrada in Tuscany. You have to take a 1 km off road path to arrive at the hotel but that was not a real problem. The compound is nice. With a big swimming pool and the rooms were good. Wifi available (free of charge) but only working at certain places like the reception and restaurant. The restaurant was good with a small selection of excellent wines. One day we took the famous Brunello from Tuscany and that was and excellent wine. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay here!

  Review by a travelling couple.

  + Super friendly staff + Clean room with AC, television and a magnificent view. + Good affordable food and drinks at their restaurant. They charge around 9 euros for pastas and 14 euros for a bottle of their house wine. + They have a entertainment team consisting of three small black cats! + Nice clean pool. + Child friendly. + a BIG recommendation from us! - Hard to find the hotel, even with GPS. We had to use data roaming and Google Maps to find it. The hotel is located 15 mins from Roccastrada.

  Un viaje perfecto

  Si no te importa estar alejado de las ciudades y de sus aglomeraciones, si quieres un lugar tranquilo donde descansar tras agotadoras jornadas, este es tu sitio... Pequeño, acogedor y muy tranquilo. El personal es increiblemente amable y todo estaba perfecto. Pasamos una semana visitando Florencia y La Toscana utilizando Sant'Uberto como base de operaciones; después de jornadas maratonianas visitando Florencia, llegar y encontrarte en aquel remanso de paz era una delicia, si no teníamos ganas de movernos nos íbamos a la piscina a relajarnos. Nos alojamos en uno de los apartamentos, así que podíamos hacernos nuestra comida si queríamos o íbamos al restaurante del hotel que sirve una comida de la zona absolutamente deliciosa. Es un lugar pequeño así que es tranquilo, por las noches podíamos ver liebres y otros animales silvestres desde la terraza de nuestro apartanmento mientras leíamos tranquilamente. Gracias a Lucca, Anna, Maria, Valentin y todo el equipo que hizo de esos días algo realmente maravilloso e inolvidable.

  Very nice place!!

  We stayed there for one night with a smart box & would definitely go back in the summer when we can use the pool! The structure is very big & nice with lovely gardens. If you have kids it's great because there's ping pong, wall climbing & of course the pool in the summer months. The location is a bit away from main sites, but not so far if you have a car to go around - it took us about 45 minutes from montalcino and about the same to get to siena. The roads are great for those who love to drive, the scenery is fantastic around there! We had dinner included- which was a set menu...delicious!! A lot of food and great quality, from the starters to the dessert. The owners and staff who work there are very friendly and accommodating. The only negative thing I have to say is about the room: it was a bit outdated and the bed was really uncomfortable, but for 1 night it was bearable. Other than that a great place to stay!! Would recommend it, especially in the summertime!
