  Incredible Experience at Hotel Red!

  I travel nearly every week on business and was incredibly impressed with Hotel Red. The rooms was spacious, bed comfortable, shower amazing (you'll likely never see a shower like this), work space sensible (nice size desk, lots of charging apparatus), perfect balcony (overlooking Camp Randall Stadium). Service was friendly as I needed to store my bag for a period and the restaurant was great (good food, wifi, service). Conveniently located, I will definitely be back!

  Not What We Hoped For

  First off, you will not have Camp Randall views - you may look at the Fieldhouse (and a million wires) or the ramps, but you will not "see Camp Randall. Parking is very limited and first-come, first-served - so we left our car there and just walked to dinner. Rooms are more modern - concrete floors, very low beds. Nice little kitchen area. Bathroom is okay - you need the directions to use the shower, but once you figure it out, it's nice. There was some mold starting to grow in the caulk. Staff was nice, but when I asked them about the free breakfast offered for booking on their website they seemed clueless. I showed them the offer and they said "we have no way of knowing where you booked". That's fine, but it's also not my problem as a guest. Figure it out, HotelRED. Staff (and I use that term loosely) at restaurant, The Wise, left a LOT to be desired - good thing it was free. Glad we tried it, probably won't be back.

  Cool vibe but many issues - really 2.5 rating

  I recently stayed at HotelRed for two nights - chose it mainly due to proximity to my daughter's dorm and a last minute discounted rate. While the staff was pleasant, and the location good for my needs, there were several issues and it felt like everyone just shrugs their shoulders. As it was cold, and I was spending a fair amount of time in my room, I wanted to watch tv. However, the satellite/cable repeatedly lost signal. When I asked about this, I was told it was a known issue.. apparently nothing could be done, as nothing was offered to be done about it. Coffeemaker did not work. When I asked for a replacement, I was told they would put a work order in, and I could come down to the bar for coffee. (coffee at bar from around 7am or slightly before, so SOL if you want coffee earlier or didn't want to get dressed in order to have it.) The woman working at the bar said that the Keurigs are always broken. But the main issue was the lack of cleanliness in the room, also in the hallway. I noticed stains on the carpet area and on the chair right away. However, as the floor is concrete and the cabinets grey, I didn't notice how dirty they were until the day of check out due to the lighting. Also opened the dishwasher that morning to find dishes and food particles; everything from the cover of the hotel guide to the hair dryer was dirty.

  Not that great.Definitely NOT luxurious or comfortable as they claim.

  We found HotelRED to be very hit and miss. Pluses: Great location, wonderful shower (except for not being fully walled off, see below), very nice bath towels, the kitchenette was handy, lovely Aveda products and the bed itself was very comfortable. There were, however, a number of things we thought were subpar, particularly given the price range for this hotel. There is almost no bathroom privacy, as the wall to the bathroom only goes up 3/4 of the way; I even managed to spray water from the handheld shower into the room when I grabbed it wrong. The sliding door to the toilet doesn't give any privacy either, so every bathroom noise your body emits echoes throughout the room. Toilet paper & kleenex are the very scratchy, generic kind. About half of the television stations don't come in. The concrete floors sound cool when you read it on the website, but the reality is that they're cold and hard, and they only bring you slippers if you specifically ask for them. Even though there were 2 of us in the room and on the reservation, we were only given 1 mug and 1 bathrobe. The bed pillows were dismal - flat and small with no support, even with 2 piled together. I've had much nicer pillows at much cheaper places. Front desk service was "meh". Overall the location was great for us but we won't be back again.

  Noisy visit this time! :(

  Weve stayed here multiple times and loved it in the past. This recent stay was sooo noisy though! Dogs barking/whining and people shouting in the halls at 1am. Also now there are parking passes, which was inconvenient with our late check-in.
