  Gem in Kyoto

  Adorable and affordable hotel in Kyoto with a great location! Close to bus line, grocery store, many restaurants, etc. I'd book again in a heartbeat if I ever go back to Japan. The staff was VERY helpful and a few spoke great English. We checked in and were served delicious green tea and it got better from there. A few years ago the space was remodeled to resemble traditional Kyoto architecture. Beautiful bathroom. Equipped with all the basics and then some. Just 8 comfortable rooms available, so book ahead!

  Excellent

  We stayed for 3 nights. We were greeted by Nori, who we saw on a few occasions. He was very kind and knowledgeable, he really took care of us. The other two women (didnt catch their names) were also friendly. Rooms were large by Japan standards, with everything you could need. Suprisingly good coffee in the morning (just a machine drip brew). We will stay again. Highly recommend.

  Amazing ryokan, fantastic people

  It was our second stay at Ramble Kyokomachi, and the staff had exceeded our expectations. Yu, Fuka and Nori were very helpful, friendly, and made our stay memorable. All of them went out of their way to attend to all of our requests. P.S. MBWindsor should've tried Japanese breakfast while visiting Japan, perhaps he would found his stay much more memorable. Japanese breakfast was excellent.

  Nice ryokan in Kyoto

  Very friendly staff nice sized room and bathroom and very comfy pillows, free wifi is also provided. The hotel is a little out of the way but Id definately worth your time if your staying in Kyoto check it out.

  Modern style meets traditional ryokan

  This cozy little hotel was perfect for experiencing Kyoto, the cultural capital of Japan. The staff was very friendly as well as knowledgeable and the amenities were amazing. Highly recommended for anyone coming to Kyoto.
