  Just what it says on the tin

  We enjoyed our stay at Hosteller Maleville which is very well located right in the centre of Beynac, Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the room was bright and airy, modern and reasonably decorated. We will stay again.

  Little gem

  We loved this quirky hotel in the centre of Beynac. True, the rooms are tiny, the shower arrangements eccentric in some rooms, there is no onsite parking, and the reception arrangements limited (7pm latest check-in)... This is, after all, only a 2 star hotel! But for us this was offset by great and friendly service, cleanliness, simple but fresh breakfasts, and prime location in the heart of Beynac. If you can live with the eccentricity, this is a great place to stay, and we would certainly go again.

  Coolest town in France

  We got to Beynac after a long driving day. Village is on the banks of the Dordogne river, and is entirely stone buildings. It took a while to find the proprietor as there is no front desk, she comes over from the nearby restaurant. Hotel was very small, nice cosy rooms and good air conditioning. Spent two nights there, you have to park in a nearby pay parking lot. Beynac is one of the most picturesque places we saw in all of France, photogenic beyond words. There are several restaurants on the banks of the river, and lots of tourists. Above the village is a Chateau de Beynac dating back to the 1200's. Well worth a tour, but also to see the numerous chateaux across the river from the hill top. Would love to go back there.

  Don't Bother

  Some hotels are 'Must return to' regretfully this s not one of them. Receptionist not interested/helpful, with a take it or leave it attitude. Aircon in room not working, but discovered after the reception had closed for the night. There are other better hotels to choose from

  Beynac central

  We stayed only one night, as the room was small for our tastes and comfort, the shower even smaller. But reasonable at 55 tax included. Our room faced the cobblestone street in the middle of Beynac, a charming village, with a must see medieval castle at the top of the town. There was a place to park across from the hotel, but there were only two reserved spacesso Id reserve that ahead. They served a breakfast, but we didnt try it. The reception does close early, but there is a door code they can give you. Best to make special arrangements in advance if needed.
