  Unfriendly head waiter

  After one in our party tasted two spoons of ice cream from another persons buffet, the head waiter charged the cost for an extra full dessert buffet. Be aware of expensive restaurant (185 euro 4 persons) and unfriendly treatment.

  Wonderful spring stay at Hotel Oberstdorf

  My friend and I stayed 3 nights in Hotel Oberstdorf and it was truly wonderful!! 1. The location is great. The hotel is surrounded by green and mountains; and it's a pleasant 1 hour walk to the Breitachklamm (wild water running through the mountain), but also to the 'family mountain' Sollereck (with super fun family activities such as high ropes courses and toboggans). The center and other mountains are a simple bus ride away. 2. The service is truly outstanding !!!!!!!! The staff was very friendly, always smiling and often checking with us if everything was okay. I cannot remember all the names of the people who impressed me, but it ranged from the people at the reception, to the people in the restaurant, to the people in the wellness, to the people in the bar. We arrived after a very stressful ride and the staff managed to take all our stress away. They treated us as if we were regular guests instead of first time visitors. 3 The wellness was beautiful. Very tasteful and peaceful. I loved the stone sauna and the bread sauna was very special. It was also nice being able to eat some of the bread later on :-) 4 The rooms: They were clean and okay. 5 The food: Excellent. We had a full pension package. Beware though that 'lunch' is served between 4 to 5 pm. At first we were very surprised, but then it made sense. If you're out all day, it would be weird to come back for lunch, so 4 pm is quite good timing to grab a snack, do some wellness and then have dinner at 6 pm or later. The quality of the food was outstanding (one evening I had really yummie lamb chops!! Loved it!) 6 The bar: I usually don't mention bars, but this was one so cozy with the fireplace and library and huge seats, and lovely friendly bartenders, and aaaaamaaazing cocktails with fresh herbs, that I just must mention it. They have what they call 'stirrtails' with all kinds of unusual herb combination. Hotel, if you read this, can you let me know what was in the Martin's Start or Shake (it was with olives) ? :-) But what carried our stay from 4 stars to 5 stars was the attention for details and willingness to keep us happy. From the tiny welcome gift (which i will leave a surprise to you) to a special attention for mother's day, to the free valet service at arrival,... the staff made sure our stay was perfect. Then, when by accident they doublebooked our spa appointment, they went to great lengths to reschedule in a way that fit us perfectly (which wasn't easy as the hotel was fully booked) and they offered us a lovely free treatment. Really, thank you hotel for a wonderful stay!!

  Beautiful Location

  The views from our balcony were absolutely stunning. Yhe hotek is quite pricey but you only get what you pay for. Out room was clean and cosy. The staff are attentive and the loung area is a chill zone with high backed chairs. The breakfast choice was superb. If you like walking or biking this is the location to go to.

  They live genuine hospitality

  we came in June 2019 as "repeat offenders" - and for a good reason. we found the already great wellness area enlarged and further improved (salt-water outdoor pool, various types of saunas, gym, ...). All made in authentic regional style and with great attention and love to detail. Rooms are clean, comfortable and offer stunning views at the Alps. All meals were included, good quality and rich (!) selection. last but not least the best: the staff. one feels the genuine and heartfelt desire to make the time there a special time for the guests. Attitude and friendliness - the unlocked the secret how to make guests to fans. Keep it up!

  Another great New Year and skiing trip

  We've been to HO as a family for many years in winter and summer. It is one of our favourite places and has a lovely friendly and comfortable feel - pure relaxation. This year the food was even better - such attention to detail on every dish (congrats to the two young chefs) and the sauna ceremonies with scented ice were a daily treat after the slopes. The whole HO team (from the owner to the cleaners) work so hard and it shows in the quality and service. Love it
