Lovely hotel: friendly staff, good food and excellent spa area - would come back!

We just left this hotel after a one week stay and we really enjoyed our time here: we even booked an extra night. We had the half-board stay and the food was really delicious, you get a 3 course meal and you get to choose of 2 options for your main meal. We tried so many different dishes, a lot typically Austrian, we loved it. For breakfast there is a small buffet with a choice of yoghurt, cheeses, cold meats, egg and bread. The room was good too, quiet and comfortable. There is a hair dryer. :) In the basement they have two nice relaxing rooms with 3 saunas (Finnish, infra-red and a bio-sauna) and a steam room. Great for relaxing after a day of skiing! We started calling our holiday the 'ski and spa holiday' and really managed to relax here from our hectic work lives. The hotel provides bathing gowns and towels for the sauna. The bus stops in front of the bus and takes you to the slopes of Fieberbrunn and St. Johann. If you want to go to the slopes of Waidring, you need to walk to another bus stop (10 min walk), which wasn't a big deal. Just make sure you check the bus times and plan accordingly. There is a Spar supermarket not too far from the hotel (10 min walk, where the other bus stop is), where we bought some drinks and snacks for on the slopes. The hotel is about 1 hour 15 min drive from Salzburg airport, we used austriatransfers to get there (about 105 euros for a return transfer - not bad!). On our last day we had to leave early so would miss breakfast, and the host then offered to make a lunch pack for us, which was really sweet. Only downside I could think of for this hotel, is that you need to pay for the wifi (10 euros per week per device), but it does work in the room so we managed to stream some series/movies to watch after dinner. All in all we had a great stay, completely relaxed, and would definitely recommend this place to family and friends!

    Super Ski Holiday

Obermair is a beautiful family hotel. The hotel is a typical Austrian building on the main road at the beginning of Fieberbrunn. We had a renovated room, very clean and also very beautiful. The bathroom has floor healing, feels great after a long day of skiing. We had half board, breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was basic but included everything you needed. I do missed the fried eggs and bacon, there was only watery scrambled eggs. They do have a good choice of cold meats and cheese. Dinner was always an option between 2 different dishes. If you didnt like the choice they were always so kind to offer you something else. The meals half board were good but basic. You could not compare it with the meals of the menu, those looked great. The service was great, very friendly and helpfull. I loved the fire place in the entrance hall, very cosy. The hotel has no bar where you can sit in the evening to have coffee or a drink so we went straigth to our room after dinner but its such a beautiful room with balcony that it was ok. Also the Welness was great, very clean with 3 saunas, a steam room and relax room and fitness! We had a lovely stay with great service!

    Fantastic stay @ Obermair

Just returned from 8 days at Gasthof Obermair, and we will definitely be back here. Fam Trixl (esp Anna) are so accomodating, her and the rest of the Trixl family and team made our stay here most enjoyable. Our party has been to Fieberbrunn numerous times, and this place ticked all the boxes. Our party (9 pax) arrived early on the Saturday and Fam Trixl ensured we had breakfast waiting before we set off to the slopes to get our Ski kit. The Hotel is super conveniently situated on the main road (parking across the street), and bus stops right outside. The bus takes you through the centre and to the ski slopes so this was extremely handy. Our party had kids aged 5 to 15 (plus adults) and the catering was typical Austrian meals (plus likes of Spaghetti Bolognese, chicken nuggets etc for Kids) and fish for the non meat eaters. This was washed down with nice local beers, and good wine and we landed up eating all our meals here (even a few lunches) which says a lot about the quality of the food. Rooms are well designed, and renovated - one party stayed in main hotel, and our friends (family of 5) stayed at one of the Gasthof's apartments across the road. Beds are super comfortable, well heated rooms and the apartments are spacious and have pretty big kitchens to cater for those who might want to cook. Even though we had a kitchen, it was far easier to eat in the hotel - and with the varied meals (we didn't eat the same dish once in the 8 days). We will be back!
