  Quite nice hotel

  On the edge of Lake Kawaguchi with fantastic views of Mt Fuji and the lake, it is a perfect location to enjoy the ever changing view of the mountain. When we stayed there we had perfect blue cloudless skies giving us perfect photos of Mt Fuji in all her majesty, then just a few hours later she was completely covered by cloud. On waking the next morning there she was again glistening in the morning sunlight, snow covered and quite magical. The hotel is fresh and clean, but perhaps a little dated looking. We chose a room in the traditional ryukan style, although there are western style rooms available as well. It was very spacious and had everything we needed including hot water to make green tea and little biscuits shaped like Mt Fuji :). The foyer and meals areas are more western in style. It is a good mix of modern and traditional. The hotel provides a free shuttle service at certain hours to and from Kawaguchi railway station and bus station which are side by side in the town. However if you don't have much luggage it is a pleasant 20-30 minute stroll around the lake edge if you feel like doing that. It is certainly lovely to walk around parts of the lake once you have settled in. We chose to include the dinner and breakfast package in our booking, which proved to be very convenient as there aren't many restaurants nearby and when we were there in March, the temp was about 2 degrees C in the evening. The meals were lovely, in the traditional style, very fresh and plentiful and really delicious. The staff were very attentive and courteous and very helpful in advising us about local cafes and attractions. Be warned that there are no shops nearby as the whole street is taken up with hotels, so if you'd like some snacks or liquor to enjoy in your room whilst looking out to the view we suggest you get it in the town, at the station before going to the hotel. They do have the ubiquitous vending machine on the 2nd floor, selling beer but if you don't like beer there is little else except for syrupy pop drinks. So, BYO goodies to your room. We would recommend this hotel as good for a night or two's stay as although not what you'd call exciting, it is more than adequate and quite nice.

  Eh... just okay

  Odd hotel in an odd location. I will say that the AC in the rooms was awesome. Bed's were okay. Internet was a bit slow. Rooms dated .. and had that musty smell from humidity. Front desk people very nice. IF you had to stay here.. not the end of the world..but for the price.. much better choices.

  Great place to stay and good resturant.

  Fit exactly my needs. A comfortable place to sleep, shower and change. Very accessible to any needs. Next to shopping, Mc Donalds, Mos Burger, and a few great restaurants and bars. Bus stop right outside.

  HOTEL New Century (Okinawa City)

  Stayed 3nights and 4days, double bed comfortable to sleep, room just about right, for 2 double beds, 2 chairs and table besides the laptop and bedside TV desk and chair. Conveniently located (near Okinawa Zoo) and 10min walk to nearest shtengai (where to buy omiage (presents), it is covered arcade unfortunately Saturday with rain lashing out most of the shops are closed even it was 12noon. Hotel staff helpful in giving direction and lending umbrella. Clean bath room supplies and toiletries, hot water okey, fluffy bath and face towels. Breakfast do not have many varieties and not hot enough. 2nd floor restaurant have small outdoor balcony and wooden swing. Inside restaurant several tables and chairs and also tatami rooms available.

  Affordable and clean

  I stayed here for a couple of days while waiting for my ship to arrived, the room was clean and comfortable, good restaurant in the hotel with good food, the Zoo, bars and shops in walking distance to the hotel, friendly staff, Internet signal was not too strong in my room I had to stand by the desk. But I recommend this place if you are looking for a place in the city that is clean and affordable.
