  Incompetent Housekeeping and noisy love hotel

  The only good thing about this hotel is that 2 of the frontdesk staff understand English. The housekeeping is inept and useless. The neighborhood that the hotel is in is noisy, loud rude drunks at night. Rude drunks that frequent the hotel in a very noisy and rude manner. Lots of late night noise is common in this hotel. This hotel SUCKS!!!!

  Japan style business hotel

  Not to be confused with the Hotel (old) Carina (which does exist by the way) the New Carina is a shiny brick tower in the heart of Morioka's downtown. From the outside and the lobby it looks pretty good. The rooms however are tiny Japanese style boxes lacking any charm. It should be said however that may be the best there is in Morioka so keep that in mind. Otherwise the staff were friendly (no English) and the place was clean. The restaurant is faux French and not very good. Give it a miss, even for breakfast. There are other options nearby.

  Free Bike Rental, but Weak Wi-Fi

  The hotel is closer to JR Morioka Station (about 10min walk), but close to Morioka's main street (Morioka Odori, literally translated as "Morioka big street", lots of restaurant, bars, convenience stores) and Morioka Castle. The room and bath room are a little spacious compared to a standard business hotel in Japan (note "a little"). The bed is comfy and you can borrow memory form pillows from the front desk if available. By the front desk shelf, you can grab mouthwash, hair tie, bath salt, ...etc. The biggest win is free rental bicycle, but there are only four available. We couldn't rent over weekend because other guests are renting more than a day. I imagine they're short supply in summer. I'd recommend this hotel as this is the cheapest hotel near JR Morioka station and located major sight-seeing spots.
