    Old Old Old...

Very old and bad maintained hotel, check in and check out was extremely slow, the front office staffs even argue in front of the guests ! We stayed 2 nights here, why they cannot give us the breakfast voucher for 2 days instead of have to collect on the next day ? The room is spacious, but old and the carpet is very dirty and full of stains. I DON't have a good night sleep for 2 nights - the hotel is caters for primary school trip or other group trip, early morning you will hear the kids or family shouting around, as if the whole hotel is belongs to them, or, you will hear the housekeeping staffs talking on walkie talkie early morning at 7am, there is totally no sound proof on the door, it was very disturbing. There are plenty of hotels in Georgetown, no next time !

    you get what you pay

like the title of my review said, you get what you pay for, this hotel offers accommodation at a reasonable price with breakfast too, and thus don't expect much of what you can get. but one thing that I needed to point out is the rooms have weird smell and the cupboards are badly damaged, the management should take extra care when doing room service.

    Continental Hotel - Fulfills a traveler's needs

Stayed here over a weekend, as it was the 'official' hotel of choice for a delegation we were involved with. I would give this hotel 5 stars for its location - Very centrally located, with 24 hour convenience stores next door and one just across the street. Plenty of local dining options within walking distance too! In fact it is walking distance to quite a number of attractions namely the Chowrasta Market, Prangin Mall, the Top among others. You can tell the hotel has been in existence for quite a bit as the exterior is of all architecture but you can see some efforts by the management in modernizing it as the lobby seemed to have had a face lift with some modern touches to it. Reception was quite busy when we arrived, and Zaza our receptionist seemed to be in control and calmly checked us in with a smile - though would have made it warmer if there was some eye contact from her. The room were assigned to was sufficient - comfortable beds, clear tv, good wifi and a clean bathroom. Exactly what any travelers need. The 'wants', the luxury of course is not there - if you want that, look for the E&O just a hop and and skip away, or the Edison just behind the hotel. Breakfast system here is through a voucher that you get from Reception - no voucher , no breakie. And the spread is of course sufficient for the kind of hotel it is. The staff especially the Housekeeping team is ever friendly and always manages a cheery hello or good morning despite them obviously busy making up rooms as we pass through the corridors. If you are a light sleeper, you may not enjoy your stay as at night we could hear some karaoke going on from the nearby club, and the walls are quite thin. Overall - I would rate this hotel with 3 stars - Good effort from the management in maintaining this hotel in terms of cleanliness and services. It does serve it's purpose. Would I return ? If I am travelling on a low budget, why not?

    Holiday

After much renovation it was reopen. Nice place..near to red garden restaurent, a nite market for dinner at penang road. Walking distance to komtar, near to st george church and other hot spot food location. Street food is convenient if one puts up at tis hotel. Normal day booking is cheaper then weekend booking.
