  Concepto de Resort diferente a España

  Aunque la palabra resort aparece en el nombre del hotel, no es parecido al concepto de resort que tenemos en España. No deja de ser un hotel, eso sí con habitaciones amplias y silenciosas, pero con una pequeña piscina y un gimnasio. No tiene otras atracciones como las existentes en España y caribe. De todas formas es un buen hotel para descansar y utilizarlo como lugar de operaciones para trabajar en la zona.

  Good Location but a Bit Tired.

  Wanting to book for 2 nights, I left several phone messages for a call back. There was no response so, two days before our intended stay I had to resort to using the hotels online booking system. One booking option was to pay an additional $10 for free cancellation, which I took. The problem was that, once I had paid for the accommodation, the free cancellation was only permissible 48 hours prior to the arrival date. So I had paid the additional $10 for nothing! As well as this less than honest booking procedure, there was a $20 fee to cancel even prior to the 48 hours. Gotcha! On arrival, I asked why no one had returned my messages. I was told that they were heavily booked for the weekend so they didnt think it necessary to return my calls. Huh?!?! I pointed out that I had not indicated when I had wanted the accommodation. Their response? Oh, sorry about that! Not a good start to any stay. It is indicative of the fact that, with the COVID-19 situation, hotels are doing well and can afford to not worry about their customer service. What was the hotel stay like? Not bad but it is not the most modern hotel and it is a bit tired.

  Good location, budget motel. Avoid room 42

  The location has is very good, close to shops, restaurants and mariner. The rooms are very basic but provide all that is needed. Unfortunately, we were given room 42 which a ground level room, next to the laundry. All night we heard cars driving past the bedroom (bedroom is the front room - very strange layout), people parking, slaming car doors, people talking and then in the morning we were woken up with more car noise as well as the laundry trolleys being wheeled apst our windows. Would recommned if you are staying here do not accept room #42 if you want any peace, quiet and/or a full nights sleep. The back of the room opended up to the rear of the pub next door so hard to even have the back open due to the noise from teh pub next door. Would stay here again but under no circumstance would accept a sub standard room location again.

  brilliant for our valentines stay

  will highly recommend Hotel Nelson amazing friendly and clean well done will come back soon we loved it you will be close to the Marina - shops beach fantastic locationand price , the staff are friendly always a smile

  Relax at Hotel Nelson

  We booked a two night stay in a Superior King Spa Room. When we booked we asked specifically for a room with water views and was provided with a beautiful room looking out to the marina. We arrived early to check in and was going to have lunch at the Little Nel until we realised it was closed on Mondays for lunch. Debbie who was in reception at the time said she would call us when our room was ready. 10 minutes later we got the call to say it was ready. The hotel is very accomodating. I have been wearing a cam boot for the last 9 weeks and I was able to use the lift to get to our room instead of tackling the stairs. Fortunately the lift opened out onto the landing right in front of our room. Access to the pool is via the footbridge on level 2 or through the carpark. Access is easy for everyone of all abilities. The pool is heated so is perfect to use all year round. The room itself was super comfortable and had all the things we needed for a home away from home stay. These rooms have all recently been refurbished and this ultimately adds to the appeal of this hotel. Everything is close by, Woolies is a short stroll away. The marina and the town centre are close by. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants offering lots of different cuisines. When we went to check out we didnt want to hand the key back. We reluctantly handed it over and said wed be back to stay again. Id like to give a big thanks to ALL of the team at Hotel Nelson who have created a beautiful place to stay and relax. Your efforts individually should be recognised so please accept my thanks for making our stay wonderful.
