    Rathole

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in during my 33+ years of travelling professionally. Where do I begin to warn people of just how bad this place is. The room we first had upon arrival was bearly tolerable, but imagine our shock when we returned to our rooms at the end of the second week of staying there and found them to be completely empty and all our belongings were gone. They took it upon themselves to move us to even worse rooms than the one we were in. The rooms in this hotel are so small and the two beds in the room are nothing more than padded cots. I do believe they were smaller than a single bunk bed. You could just barely move around in the room and there is no seating other than on the bed. Each bed comes with one small pillow and with both of them, you can barely prop yourself up to get somewhere near comfortable to use your computer or read. The first room we had was slightly bigger but the second one was a nightmare. No hot water in the sink. The only hot water was in the shower if you let it run for about 10 minutes to finally get it hot. No control of temperature, the water constantly changed temperature while you were showering. No heat in the room and no sealed windows. It was between 55 to 65 degrees in the room constantly. A minibar fridge packed with overpriced items and no coffee maker or microwave to heat water. I would have given this place a zero if it had that option. The restaurant was decent but the food bar they offered for breakfast and dinner was the same every day of the week. No difference in the items on the bar. If you love pasta and bread every single dinner, then you will like the bar. They did offer about 2 items of variety on the weekends for dinner. They do have a menu to order from but it is very limited and not very good. No one that works here has more than a 25 to 50 word english vocabulary. While they try to be accomodating, they really do not seem to care to help you because they cannot speak the language. Please take my advice and avoid this hotel like the plague. This review would have been much shorter if I had written the things I did like about the hotel. In about one sentence, there is a good waitress named Vilma and the courtyard has beautiful plants and flowers

    What a nice surprise!

I am perplexed by the reviews below that bag this place. As an American living in a small city in Brazil, I was bracing myself for the worst after reading these reviews. Imagine my surprise when the National Inn Previdencia was actually quite nice. We got our room with points, so it was on the bottom floor and broom-closet small. But, it was clean, mold-free (a plus in humid Brazil), with a great shower (ie: NOT electric) and comfy beds. The pool area was really clean (also a plus in Brazil, where some pool clubs can quickly go to crap) and the restaurant's buffet lunch was quite good. The hotel is located in a very lush area with lots of walking trails and is close to the Grande Hotel (which is the big queen bee in Araxa), so it's easy to walk over there to take pictures, have lunch etc. They also had a lot of activities, a la the Dirty Dancing lodge (ie: bingo, kareoke.) But keep an open mind and enjoy it! Now, for Americans traveling to this area, you must keep in mind that Brazil's star rating is different from that in the U.S. The rooms of this hotel would probably be a 3 star. But for Brazil, it's quite nice. Yes, it's a little dated and there are some parts (ie: the game room) that are in serious need of an update. But welcome to 90% of hotels in Brazil! Also, I was here over the Easter holiday, when the hotel was likely on its best behavior and was 100% full. In Brazil, hotels tend to slack off in the off-season. I'm not sure if that's the case here, but just something to keep in mind. To conclude, I once again am perplexed by the many negative reviews here! Oh, the wifi kicked butt (another shocker in Brazil)

    Nice hotel

this hotel is a nice place to stay in Araxa. The rooms are comfortable, the staff is very kindle. The breakfast is very good and you have free wi fi in all the areas of the hotel. Around the hotel there is big green area with a lake that you can walk around. I recommend this hotel.

It was quiet for an overnight stay

I enjoyed dinner at the check-in date and the breakfast in the following day. The room was quiet, a queen bed of decent comfort, a shower before sleeping and that's all. Hotel location is great, the buildings are surrounded by trees which brings a nice wild life. Besides the fact the access to the location from the main highway requires you to cross town in about 1/2 hour, it is worth it. A longer stay is recommended to relax and enjoy more the attractions.

    Lots of fun

Beautiful place, We had a lot of fun with tientao team, special thanks to tio Batata, very charismatic and fun. Attendees were kind and did their best to make us comfortable. Unfortunately we stayed at covid-19 period and few touristic places nearby were closed.
