HotelNice hotel, rooms a little larger than the average Japanese hotel, clean and quiet. Complementary breakfast was nice though choice of food was a little limited. Staff were helpful. Plenty of convenience stores and restaurants in the neighbourhood. 10mins walk to train station.

Not one Mystays Hotels disappoint - they are all goodThe family room was huge. It was right on the highest floor - 9th.It was semi - circular in layout. There were a lot of bay windows - great for putting shopping bags and luggages. 2 huge beds plus a foldable one. There was enough space for a couch too. The room was clean and I dare say not one of the Mystays Hotels disappoint. They are all very good. The parking was the electronic garage type. There was no one manning the lift so you will need to run to the lobby and ask for assistance. Thankfully it's not too far away. However, there are a few steps to get to the lobby from the parking area so good luck if your luggages are heavy.

My First Stay at a My StayI stay in quite a few hotels in Japan, but this is a first for me. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from JR Tachikawa Station. On the walk from the station to the hotel, there lots of convenience stores and places to eat. The hotel is situated close to the Hotel Nikko as well. However, this hotel is much cheaper and good for the money. No problems with check in, I thought I heard Staff speaking English, but I used Japanese. Initially, I was checked into a single room, but honestly it looked bigger. Very nice room, very cosy. Please see pictures. Had an issue with noise with the people next door. The TV was very loud and also it sounded like there was something else going on. So, impossible to relax, I complained about the noise. I wouldnt say the walls are too thin, the guests next door, were LOUD. Called the front desk again, and said I wanted a new room. Within 10 minutes they had moved me to a twin, but much larger room. (Please see pictures). Not my ideal situation, but I guess the staff thought I would like the bigger room, with bigger bathroom. After that, it was all good. Someone said breakfast was not so good here? In my opinion, it was very good for a hotel of this price. Ive had much worse breakfasts from bigger chains. The breakfast area is quite big and opens from 06:30. In my opinion, again, a good hearty breakfast with salad, Japanese options and Western style as well. Good coffee too. I think this hotel has vending machines and microwaves on 3 floors. Also, I know they have a coin laundry but I cannot say how many machines and on what floors. Just so you know, there are plenty of places to eat and drink in the area. Also, if you go under the railway, you will find more places as well, including department stores. Would I stay here again? Absolutely, for personal stays, when Im looking for something for 1-2 nights, I would stay in a My Stay in a heartbeat. I hope their other hotels, are of this standard. Overall, very good value and comfortable for what you pay. I look forward to staying with them again.

Great as long as nothing goes wrongOn my first 2 stays at this hotel, everything was good. On my third stay, I left my 2 bags with the front desk when I checked out on June 7th, since I had a late flight back to Hawaii. Apparently, the hotel gave one bag to another party. Fortunately, the other party notified the hotel of the wrong bag and I was contacted at home on the following day. The hotel confirmed my home address and assured me the bag would be sent to me. I was notified several days later that my luggage had been miss shipped and would take longer to be returned to me. Finally, on July 1st, I was notified that the luggage had been shipped, 23 days after the original error. I received it on July 6th, with a broken zipper and some contents missing. This suitcase was purchased in Japan on a previous trip and not used since. When I contacted the hotel, they said they were not responsible as the bag left their hotel in good condition and that I should contact the shipper for any claims. This, after they took 29 days to return my luggage with no offer of compensation for their error, compounded with their inept handling of shipping the luggage, then refusing to take ownership of the damaged luggage. I enjoy Japan, however, in the future, I will look for a trustworthy hotel.

Very Decent Choice In TachikawaStayed here for a week while visiting my son who lives in Tachikawa. By western standards the room seems very small when we first walked in, but we quickly adapted to it. The twin beds were comfortable with nice linens. The bathroom is a decent size, with an excellent shower. The area is good with close proximity to the station where all the great shops are located. The only problem we had was that we were given a smoking room and it reeked! We simply couldnt remove the smell during the entire week. A couple of strange things....Im visiting again in April with my sister and my daughter. I inquired about the family room and they told me it was booked. Never asked me the dates or checked a computer. In April 2020? Its booked the whole month? The other thing is the spa....hours are 7:00 pm to 5:00 am? As there are a lot of prostitutes around the area at night we wondered if the spa is legit. Id love to get my son a massage there as a Xmas gift but questioning those strange hours.
