Comfortable stayRooms were clean and warm and pleasant smelling. There are several wood fired restaurants nearby but it didnt affect the rooms. Staff are reserved but helpful on approach and Bar staff were very friendly. Breakfast was typically continental buffet but there was plenty of choice and some new things to try. Its a fairly small hotel but family friendly with games in the main part including a pool table, table tennis and chess/ backgammon, Located close to the Gondola, slightly down the hill in a quieter part of the resort. Cleaners were there most days, but never far away if you had a request. Bins were changed daily, hoovered and had clean towels and sheets during the week. For the price, location and comfort would definitely stay again

Mediocre facilities and RUDE hotel managementThe rooms are mediocre and arent very clean, the walls are as thin as paper, breakfast is also mediocre, but in general is cheap and you always get what you pay for. The real reason to avoid this place, is its rude people, beginning from the staff till the hotel management at our first night sitting in the lobby, we were attacked by a drunken lady, because we brought our own bottle of water to the table. While she continued insulting and swearing at us in English and in Bulgarian, the waiter informed us that she is the hotel boss!! Dont expect friendly staff here, if the hotel boss is so rude. The same hotel boss was smoking in the lobby, but the guests werent allowed to smoke. Been in Bulgaria many times, and we know Bulgarians arent famous for their hospitality, but at least people dont expect being insulted while they pay for their stay.

You get what you pay for!!Stayed at the Moura Hotel for four nights half board. The hotel reception and bar areas are very comfortable, clean and well equipped with a bar, pool table, games table and different types of seating; all served with free WiFi. The bar man tries his very best to provide whatever drinks you want. I found the Bucks Fizz very tasty and great value!!! The bedrooms were well appointed with ample cupboard space, a comfy bed and a very pleasant temperature. The shower room was warm with plenty hot water (a real bonus on a ski holiday!) Yes you have to put toilet paper in a bin provided (emptied daily) but having holidayed frequently in Northern Greece, I have been accustomed to this. From reading previous reviews, perhaps people take for granted the advanced sewage systems we have in the U.K. As I only take cereal, fruit, toast and tea for breakfast, the breakfast served in the dining room was ok for me, however the hot food did not get such good reviews from fellow holiday makers. The main complaint was the temperature of the food. This was also the problem with the evening meal. Im afraid it wasnt even warm. It was cold and, for this reason we chose to eat out. It is such a shame because the food that is served in the bar or off the menu in the restaurant is excellent. Taking everything into account, I would stay here again but perhaps either on room only or bed and breakfast, however, if half board was all that was on offer, the prices are so reasonable that eating out doesnt break the bank!!!

Avoid if you appreciate good serviceI've just spent 5 nights here. Whilst the hotel itself is decent from a cleanliness and location perspective the level of customer service is appalling. Upon arrival our 'welcome' by the young lady on the reception desk was surly and rude. I had booked and paid for a triple and 2 double rooms but due to illness 2 of our party could not travel. The young lady gave me 2 room keys and when I asked first the third almost shouted FIVE at me and pointed at my 4 friends. When I then stated that I would like the 3 rooms I paid for , she angrily screwed up her face and dropped a 3rd key in front of me with a glare. We do borovets every year in Feb and can safely say we will not book this hotel again .

Hospitality at its worseOur expectations werent overly high - its a 3* hotel after all. However, I was appalled by the failings of Hotel Moura to deliver the basics: 1) The MOST unfriendly and rude, arrogant staff - particularly on reception. Be warned, ask for a hairdryer at your peril! And if you dare to enter the porch to remove your ski boots because youve night-skiied and the boot room is closed, expect a telling-off from the night porter. (He tried to send us back outside and when we refused I think the air turned blue with his Bulgarian expletives) Not a single member of staff greets you, smiles at you or acknowledges you. There are 2 exceptions: the friendly ski hire man and the barman. 2) The rooms are decrepid and filthy. The cleaners top up the loo paper and fold the duvets each day - thats it. Check out the photos of whats lurking from previous guests behind the bathroom bin! Door handle broke off in my hand, sink broken with a botched repair, ants, broken light fitting, sockets hanging off the wall. 3) No sound proofing of the bedrooms. You gotta love noisy neighbours in the middle of the night and hearing every detail of those in adjacent rooms having a pee. 4) Cold food because the hot holding buffet stations are broken. Food is very average and repetitious. Dont opt for dinner. 5) It smells - of stale cigarettes and disinfectant with a bit of smelly feet thrown in for good measure Bizarrely, the owner, her bouncer and her dog sit in the empty restaurant drinking until late every night - perhaps she should use the time to observe her staff and talk to guests to get their feedback - and then act on it. Such a shame. We loved Borovets and the skiing and well definitely be back...but to a different hotel.
