  Nice little motel

  This a nice place. Nice rooms, well kept. Walk Down the length of the motel and you can see and hear the mighty St Lawrence. The staff are exceeding polite and helpful. The morning breakfast is really lacking, toast, doughnuts and muffins. All rooms are drive up so no lugging luggage around. I would certainly stay there again

  Friendly and helpful

  This was the second motel we checked out in Matane. The lady at reception made our decision easy. She was so friendly and helpful and offered a reduced rate for our room. It was only a reduction of $10 but we appreciated it. The room was your standard motel room but the beds were very comfortable. Also, a continental breakfast was included - cereal (Rice Krispies & Cheerios), instant porridge (microwave), toast & jam, yogurt, juice, coffee.

  cold outside, warm inside

  Located on the main road coming into town from the south. Not far to the ferry terminal. Rooms were very clean, staff were good. Place has free wifi and plenty of parking. Breakfast was nice, had the place to ourselves. Weather was miserable and the motel room and dining room were warm enough. Slight traffic noise. Only stayed the one night, traveling on.

  Good sized room at a reasonable price.

  Helpful and friendly staff who speak English and worked with us to get the electrical problems in the room solved (which is a downside of this property with two outlets not working and an octopus of cords under the table). Upstairs rooms are a bit awkward to access up the stairs but are large with view of the river. It was warm and there is no air conditioning. Breakfast is pretty basic but you can find enough to eat.

  Don't go here

  Would give 0 stars if I could. I do not normally write reviews but would like to spare other families from our bad experience. Very outdated and depressing motel. 200$ for a small room with king size bed. I understand the 15$ extra charge for our dog as most places charge this, however, this place is a horrible choice. Located in an industrial area of Matane, it is very noisy with many large trucks and motorcycles passing by. The rooms are very outdated and depressing, even the king room was very small. It is by the ocean but railroad track in between the hotel and beach, so quite a walk if you do want to go down to the beach. Also, there were many smokers smoking right outside the rooms so we could smell the cigarette smoke from inside our room. Not fun with a newborn baby. We complained at the front desk the next morning, they did not seem to care. The included breakfast and coffee is a joke. Cheap store bought muffins. There are so many other choices for a better price, don't go waste your money!!
