  Wonderful Hotel

  This is a wonderful hotel in a picturesque setting with views up to the Pitztal glacier. The bedrooms are very comfortable, attractively furnished with good bathrooms. Buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. The evening meals were equally good and the cost of drinks from the bar was very reasonable. There is a ski storage and boot drying room and also a spa but we did not use it The bus up to the glacier stops a very short walk from the hotel

  OK...

  I stayed at Hotel Möderle 4 nights at the end of March 2012 - had a package-deal of 298 euros, incl. half-board plus 3-day-lift-ticket which I think was fine. The arrival was not the best one, waited at the door nearest to the street (also there was an arrow showing, that this was the main entrance), well, it was not and it took me a while before I understood, that the entrance was on the other side of the house. The staff could not find me a proper, cleaned room so I ended up having maybe a bigger and better room, that was meant to be, had nothing against that. The room was clean and big enough, toilet and bathroom were separated and there was a bath tub! Breakfast buffet was good, like it always seems to be in Austria. I read from an earlier review that there good have been more variety on the salad buffet in the evening - and I agree, but I also know why...There was e.g. a lovely plate of smoked salmon in the buffet, but only one and it was empty after 10 minutes and that´s it! And this was the case on several meals....I asked for more salmon on my last evening and suddenly I did not feel my self a nice customer any more...So you had to be ready by the buffet at 18.30 when the dinner started, if you came later, it really was only a salad buffet. The main course was good but small, but I understood you could have more of it if you wished. The dessert was also good, but always served in the shape of mousse even in the same dish. To be quite honest, I had some health problems when I arrived, so maybe this affects my judgement, but still, I must say, I have been often in Austria, and there have been better ***three star hotels.
