Always nice stayIt's only a few minutes walk from Yamanote and Keihin Tohoku line Tabata station and good accesses to Tokyo and Saitama areas. Room are good size and provide enough amenities and give good views of Tohoku, Joetsu and Nagano Shinkansen trains. Restaurant for breakfast is also acceptable.

Well located comfortable hotelIn the last 3 weeks we have checked in to this hotel thrice and have spent 14 days in all. This is a combined review for all the three stays. The reason we chose this unlikely hotel, located as it is towards North of Tokyo ,is that our son stays nearby. Rooms to the hotel were not available on the JR- East Mets website but we got bookings on Expedia( via TripAdvisor). The rates are slightly on the higher side. The hotel does not have an e-mail id , so in case if issues I did not know how to connect with them.Luckily we had no issues prior to check in. If you are reaching Tokyo at Narita airport ,the simplest way to reach the hotel is by Skyliner to Nippori. Change to JR line in Nippori and Tabata station is only 2 stops away in 4 minutes. Reverse the route for return journey to Narita. The hotel is located at a minutes walk from the station. It is a tallish structure but the lobby is small. As you enter the hotel you will encounter lovely citrus flavours and there are also lot of literature for tourists, but only one in English. Which brings me to the fact that the English abilities of the staff are below average although they are a very co- operative lot. They keep some candies on the counter to which you can help yourself. You can borrow umbrellas and also entrust your luggage to them for free if you are going out of Tokyo for short trips.During our first stay lasting 11 days we were given a spanking new room( Room no. 1001) on the tenth floor, however for our subsequent stay we were allotted slightly jaded room no. 401 on the fourth floor. The room is of average size by Japanese standard and the room has good view of the locality from windows. The room had all requisite amenities including a universal adaptor and two chairs. There is no English Channel on the TV. The free wifi did not work inspite of our complaints. The toilet is very clean and has all amenities ( however the shaving razors were of poor quality). You can help yourself to roasted green tea, green tea or coffee. The air conditioning is but of an issue as the room does not cool enough, even in highest fan speed. The free breakfast is served in the cafe called Pronto( it is part of a chain). You have four breakfast sets which never change including one with toast, omelette, salad , yogurt and s single cup/ glass of hot or cold beverage. The juices are unlimited but we did not try them. The cafe is open to outsiders too and seem fairly busy and you can eat till late night.Overall we were quite happy with our stay. Tabata is around 20 minutes to Shinjuku and around 15 minutes ( one change) by train to Asakusa and the area is very quiet except for noises from train ( including Shinkansen).

Train line viewsBe careful Train Line Views are ONLY for the single rooms. All the doubles face the other direction. I got caught out, disappointed but thats life, everything else is very good with this hotel. Would stay again.
