  Excellent Location and good service!

  We stayed at Mercury Inn in Nov 2018. The location of this hotel is it's USP. the rooms are decently well appointed. The biggest advantage is that you can see the Golden Temple from it's balconies and terrace. The view is especially stunning at night (some pictures attached). You can also walk to Jalianwala baug, old market and Kesar da Dhaba The hotel staff were polite and helpful. Highly recommended

  Easy access to everything

  We stayed here 28-30 Nov. To start off, this hotel has a great location just next to the Golden Temple with car access. Taxis can drive straight up to the hotel. Rooms were dated but comfortable and fairly clean. The staff at Mercury Inn were friendly and helpful. They arranged taxi transfers for us from Amritsar railway station (400rs), to Wagah border (1400rs), and to the airport (800rs). It sounds like a lot but the taxis were clean, spacious and brand new so definitely worth every penny. Because my friend was ill during the last leg of our trip, Rohit the hotel manager actually let us do a late check out on the last day. We truly appreciate the few hours of extra rest before our night flight. Many thanks to Rohit and his staff for such incredibly kind treatment! As for food, it is 15min walk to Kesar Da Dhaba. Or about a 40rs cycle rickshaw ride. Its also an easy access to the langar at the Golden Temple. Lots of shopping to be done at the nearby pedestrianised area, plus a Macdonalds and a Subway. It was also fun exploring the maze of small alleys just behind the hotel. We had a room facing the golden temple and could hear the beautiful chanting at all times. We loved it, it was very peaceful and soothing.

  Perfect

  If the main focus of your trip to Amritsar is the Golden Temple then this is the place! AUS $50 a night gave the best view of the temple as if I was in a room on the grounds. From the hotel it is a two min walk to best entrance of GT and the closest to the inner sanctum line. This meant I could stay late at the temple and safely walk home in a flash. The room was great, and had a little balcony. Priti was super helpful. Stay again and again. If you get rickshaw from the railway just go to Golden Temple front entrance, and walk around the temple to the right and you will see it (80 rupees only).also is well possible to bargain for cheaper airport taxi outside hotel (they charge 800 rupees). The western brrakfast sucked but the indian one was nice. Food ordered was through a good local eatery, and was quite good, but with no table to eat at.

  Very near to Harmandir Sahib. Small tidy rooms with balcony facing the temple

  Stayed for one day with my family. We were 6 people and a toddler, so booked 3 deluxe rooms. After checking in we wanted to change one of the rooms as we wanted the front balcony view in all the rooms. The owner immediately addressed our request and changed one of the room to an available vacant room with balcony view in the 2nd floor. We were provided with complementary water bottles on arrival on all the rooms. There were service guys available for taking all luggage from the reception to the rooms-they handled luggage with care. From the terrace, the view of Harmandir Sahib was very good. We were able to walk to the temple in just less than a minute. The locality was safe - women in my family went to the temple at 3 am in the morning for Darshan. On checkout our luggage were moved from all rooms to the reception, and later to the cab by the service guy; Though he did not demand any money for the service, we gave some small amount as a good will gesture. Rooms were tidy and had working led TV. Bathrooms were clean. All rooms had balcony and had view towards the temple. The staff were professional and courteous. We had to extend our stay more than the time mentioned for checkout due to our travel itinerary timings; the owner have taken the request and let us stay for few more hours without taking any additional charges. Also they arranged cab to airport, which was comfortable and picked us up from the hotel - rate of cab was same as OLA. Only one thing to point out for people who need larger room is that the area of deluxe rooms were less, which we did not mind, as our intention to stay was to visit Harmandir Sahib temple. There were larger family rooms in the 3rd floor. There is lift access to all floors. All in all I would recommend this place, and would stay here again in my next visit.

  location of hotel and Staff are the best

  To Management at the Mercury Inn Amritsar, I like to thank the staff at Mercury Inn Amritsar for looking after our stay. We stayed from 17 march to 20 march in 2 family suites. We really enjoyed the stay with staff like Rohit, Preeti and naranjan, they catered for our needs with SMILE.We had wonderful views of the Harmandir Sabib from our rooms, great view. Location is excellent only draw back for NRI is could get new make over new décor, otherwise very happy and recommend to anyone.Thanks once again to wonderful staff. Best Regaeds Chhinder Singh
