    great value for money

My partner and I stayed here for 6 nights in Aug 2012 and loved it. - spotless rooms Cleaned daily and are cleaner than some 4-stars I've stayed in - friendly staff Staff are extremely courteous, helpful and patient. BTW spot the twins among the staff ;-) - private 'beach' for quick dips and romantic evenings. Whereas all the beaches at Lake Garda are full from morning till late afternoon, they are usually empty in the evenings. The guests at Merano (nearly all Germans), preferred to spend the evenings on the hotel's patio which meant my partner and I had the beach for ourselves :-) - good location Away from the hustle and bustle of Riva and Garda but not far from either. If you have nerves of steel, you'll be quicker on the road with a bike - no problem for city cyclists.

A very pleasant family-run hotel, good food, great value

This is a very simple hotel, nothing fancy about it, but the staff are very friendly and the food is great and the hotel is clean and proper. If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay, this will fit the bill. It is an older building, which means that the rooms are kind of small, but the important things have been kept up to date. Rooms at the back of the hotel look out onto a rock wall, but have the benefit of not suffering from the road and traffic noise that will affect rooms at the front. The only significant negatives are rather poor soundproofing between the rooms (there are no carpets in the hallways), and very a very slow Wi-Fi connection - sufficient for email, but not for any form of video. The restaurant food is great, I recommend guests take the half-board package because there is not much else to choose from within walking distance. At about 50 Euro a night, including breakfast, it offers great value for money.

    Budget hotel

Hotel has nice location even the tram line is in front of the hotel and you could hear trams until late night, but its interesting. The staff is very helpful but it is a communication gap since they don't speak English. The room was clean and the bathroom could be better. You have to have in mind that it is an old building. In the lobby there is a coffee machine, 0.50. I recommend it for short stay.

    Simpel hotel

Very simple hotel, nothing fancy. I think they need upgrading the rooms because the tv set hang under the ceiling is terribly old and the hanging position gives you a whiplash. The room is very small. You need to unpack your suitcase and put the empty suitcase on top of the cupboards, because if you don't you can not get around the bed. Small bathroom, small shower cabine. We had a room with a lake view at the small side of the hotel. My sister's room was small, single bed and like they said had mountain view. But mountain view is not the word. You'll see a blind wall of rock. No view whatsoever. No sunlight. The staffs are very nice. The breakfast is pretty nice. We used the swimming pool a lot which is not fancy but ticks the boxes after a day of sightseeing. Wifi is very slow and the soundproofing of the rooms is poor. But you will have aircon!! The only thing I really hated was the fact you can use the daybeds at the private beach but you have to pick it from a pile yourself in the morning and bring it back when you're done. If the hotel put the beds in the morning at the beach so the guests could enjoy this service, it would be much better. Oh, and bring your own mattress for the daybeds! They are provided without mattresses.
