2 minute walk to the main beachHotel Mediterraneo is a good standard accommodation for Vieste that is very exposed to tourism for Italy. It has an excellent location with the centre of Vieste town, the beach and all conveniences minutes away on foot. There is also free parking outside the hotel or a minimal fee for covered parking in the garage. It is located in one of the best areas of Vieste. Reception was efficient, we were a walk in booking and the price included bed & breakfast. Breakfast is Italian continental. There is an elevator which is handy for luggage etc. The rooms were immaculate, new and modern bathroom (shower, wc), tv, balcony and good storage space. Amenities provided in the bathroom and ample towels supplied. Vieste is a beautiful town, it has a population explosion from July to August. The best time to visit is May/June or September to avoid the main crowds and pay less that the peak period.

Very good stay, just one blip!Stayed in this hotel last summer with my boyfriend for a week away. The stay was largely very good, the hotel was clean and in a really nice area. The beach was only a two minute walk away and the hotel boasted its own area of beach where your own umbrellas and loungers could be reserved. During our stay we ate lunch at the hotels beach cafe on numerous occasions and really enjoyed all their fresh pasta dishes. Back at the hotel the pool and diving board were clean and lots of fun. Our stay included breakfast, which was ok but nothing at all extravagant. Mainly consisting of toast and cereal. My only concern would be that half way through our stay I left my jewellery in our room. In part it was my own fault that a white gold and diamond ring of mine was stolen, as I had not asked for a key for the safe. However, in a 3/4 star hotel which seemed very pleasant I did not feel uneasy and didn't expect anything like that to occur. On a day in the middle of our stay, as we went to the beach I decided to leave my jewellery behind, on returning the room cleaners had been and my ring was gone. We turned the room upside down numerous times but it had definitely been taken. The cleaners were the only people with access to our room as far as I am aware. We reported it to reception, who were not overly helpful but did inform the cleaners. A really disappointing end to a lovely week in what seemed a very nice hotel.

dont stay herethe only 2 good things about this hotel are the location and pool. The staff working there were not helpful at all from check in to check out, didnt help with luggage, places to go out nothing our mini fridge didnt work it actually made things hotter so we asked for ice and were told no even after i said i would pay for some the floors in the room were dirty and looked like they hadnt been washed in some time the rooms are tiny and the beds were given to sleep on were fold out trundle beds and when i asked to be moved to a bigger better room i was told we had the biggest rooms in the hotel, which i find hard to believe the water pressure in the shower was ridiculous and the hot water came on and off, the towels were more like bed sheets so you could never dry yourself properly in the morning the room service cleaners would come by between 9-930am and they play their music so loud you couldnt sleep in if you wanted to we were also told we could book chairs at the beach through the hotel but when i asked if the hotel could do this for us they said we should just go down to the beach and book ourselves, which we did but just added to the poor customer service. overall it was a really poor hotel and i have no idea how it is 4 star the town though is beautiful and i recommend going, just find yourself somewhere else to stay

Security concerns & "free" parking costs 5eurFirst of all guests must note that the although the doors have Yale locks they MUST use the room key to lock the door when leaving the room. On two occasions I shut the door when I went out without realising that the door was not locked and anyone could have walked in an stolen my passport, money and valuables. It was not until my wife walked in without using the key that I discovered this very serious security issue. The building has outdated 1970s décor & furniture throughout but the cleaners do a very good job in keeping the hotel clean and the rooms are a reasonable size and offer a good nights sleep. There is also a games room and a swimming pool which was closed during my visit. Although I stayed only 1 night the ridiculously late check and early 10am check out meant that I could only stay for 18 hours. There is free wifi avaible which is unreliable at best. The hotel is not on the seafront and affords a view of dilapidated buildings opposite, however the beach and the town centre are only about 5 minutes walk. I did walk around after dark and the area seems to be safe. Apparently the hotel has beach umbrellas but the receptionist did not tell me about this. Breakfast looked very unappealing with a limited selection of cereals that looked very dry and croissants that did not look fresh. There were also a lot of undisciplined children who repeatedly touched the food with their dirty hands and because most parents were ignoring their children they allowed them to run about making a lot of noise and to play loud music and games on their phones. Unwilling to eat the food on display, I opted for just a yoghurt and a cappuccino which was very frothy and tasted more like a milk shake. Customer service is very poor, both lifts were out of order during the busy check out time so the stair case became very congested with guests and luggage. I arrived during a thunderstorm and told the receptionist that a motorbike was occupying the last free parking space at the front of the building. When I asked her to tell the owner to move it to a smaller space in the corner she confirmed that the owner was in his room but would not disturb him because she did not want him to go outside and get wet. As I was unable to park my car she told me that I would have to pay 5eur to park my car in the underground car park. When I objected she still refused to ask the motorcyclist to move his bike and she refused to waive the 5eur parking charge. As my car was blocking other vehicles I had to go out in the rain to move it and in the process I got wet. Walking back to the hotel from the garage was hazardous as the steps are extremely slippery when wet and an electric cable had been left running across the garden area and down the staircase to the garage. The front entrance also has a step which is difficult to see especially when exiting the building and many people stumble. Throughout the day the door mat was left uneven by the front step which was another trip hazard. Inside reception there are some steps to the dining room and there is a steep ramp for wheelchairs which is like a ski slope. The hotel is clearly not suitable for people with sight or mobility problems. Although it is a clean and comfortable hotel, I would not recommend it because of its poor breakfast, customer service, facilities, parking and security failings regarding the door locks.
