    Not booking again

The location of the hotel is okay. Gargnano is a small town at lake Garda compared to the rest and the boats don't stop by as much as in the rest of the small towns. So expect to drive around quite a lot. Hotel is located a 10 min walk up hill from the town. Positives: - Beautiful view from the rooms and the small balcony was lovely. - breakfast was ok and the restaurant, especially if you get one of the tables outside, you'll enjoy it even more. Waiters in the restaurant are very pleasant as well although they don't speak much English. - bathrooms are old but kept nice and in a condition, where you are accepting them, not finding them old and disgusting. Negatives: - no free parking spaces at the hotel, as they promised. You could book your own parking space for 10 euros a day. But pisses me off that it says free parking, when it's basically not. All customers are paying the 10 euros, which leaves no free ones, so expect 70 euros on top of your stay, if you are staying for a week. - staffs/owners family used our parking space, so we had to tell them to remove their car. Sry, but I paid 10 extra euros a day - then it's empty unless my car is there! - rooms are okay, but dated. We ordered a room with a double bed. 2 single beds put next to each other (nothing holding them together) and mattresses were 10cm to narrow each, so imagine how we were sleeping 20-30cms apart all the time. So frustrating. We had booked though hotels.com and therefore had 50% discount due to bonus stays. I'm glad we had that otherwise it would have been a bit of a rip off. I know lake Garda is expensive, but having stayed in malcesine in a renovated modern hotel, I'm now aware that I rather want to pay the extra money to get more and better comfort, better breakfast and service and a larger town with good ferry connections to the other towns. The traffic around the lake is awful during peak season and you want to take the boats across the lake instead of wasting hours in a car.

    Great Location and staff

We spent two nights here and the views were amazing. The room was comfortable and both breakfast and dinner were excellent. All the staff and management were very efficient friendly and professional. Car parking could be a problem so would recommend booking a space. The village is easily walkable which gave us options for eating out. Our first time on Lake Garda and was not disappointed in our choice of hotel. We woulod definitely return.

    A lovely hotel

Had a super stay at this hotel. Booked lake view rooms which were well appointed and had spectacular views you can enjoy from nice balcony furniture. Breakfast was particularly good and we also enjoyed a couple of great value meals in the hotel dining room. Must mention the staff who were really friendly and helped with all sorts of queries about days out; we even had impromptu Italian lessons. Gargnano is a pretty small town; lots of bars and restaurants but quieter than some of the other resorts. We hope to return and have recommended the hotel to friends and family.

    Excellent-perfect location

Hi,my girlfriend and I stayed in a lake view room in late July and we loved it. We are in our 20s and we havent a bad word to say. The rooms, air con, staff ,food, indoor pool, rooftop terrace were all top notch. The room was modern and had the best view weve ever seen. Was worth the money alone. Ive seen bad reviews about having to pay for parking but we didnt and we never had an issue.. the hotel itself is family Ran and couldnt be nicer. Its based in the small town of Gargnano which is only a ten minute walk away and has plenty of little shops and restaurants. There is somewhere to sunbath, swim And a park for kids only a 5 minute walk down the hill which has bars, places to rent windsurfing and paddle boards for reasonable prices.the bigger towns of Limone and maderno are within ten minute drive for more choice of restaurants etc.. we will definitely be back again..

    Great hotel!

Just returned from a weeks stay in the Meandro hotel and highly recommend it. We chose the town of Gargnano to avoid the big crowds that the summer months bring to lake Garda. It did not disappoint, the town itself has plenty of beautiful streets and restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the hotel. The hotel had everything we needed, a beautiful view from the balcony of the lake, a roof top terrace and an indoor swimming pool to get out of the sun for a while during the day. The room was spotlessly clean and fresh towels and sheets were provided each day. Breakfast was from 8-10 and had a selection of hot and cold options and plenty of fruit. We had a beautiful dinner on the balcony of the hotel restaurant looking out on lake Garda, reasonably priced! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We asked if there was a possibility of getting bread rolls late one evening and we were brought fresh brown bread by the owner. I have nothing but good things to say about our stay here and We look forward to coming back to this hotel again :) We flew to bergamo airport and rented a car which was definitely a necessity for the holiday, hotel Meadro was a perfect base for exploring the surrounding areas of lake garda (Lago di Tenno, Lago di Lerno, Gardaland, Verona, Venice to name a few).
