  Roadside Motel

  Our room was very outdated, hardly lush like the picture on here. Smell wasn't very great and the bed & pillows not so good. Shower was hot and pressure was great though. Only stayed one night, it did the trick! Wouldn't stay here for more than a night, def a passing through stop. Can't hold high expectations here and all will be well.

  Motel, Not Hotel

  This is the former Motel Des 9, re-branded as a hotel. Still the best place in town to stay, but it is still the same motel, 5 km south of town. Some of the rooms have been renovated (except for the A/C unit it seems) and are much nicer now, like being in an Ikea display (as in the management photos on this site). The new shower is very good, that's the best upgrade. The bed in my renovated room was a double (not a queen as indicated), with another in the wall if needed. The bed was very firm but comfortable; the pillows, not so much. The new floors are all solid surface, either tile or laminate -- nice instead of grubby carpet, but unfortunately the grit from the sand-and-gravel parking lot outside can easily get in. Very quiet, even though the parking area outside these rooms was quite full. The staff are friendly, helpful, and bilingual. The renovated rooms are over-priced in my opinion, but worth choosing.

  Very nice.

  Under new management & very well kept, with several updates in the rooms. Beds are comfortable and there is good temperature control. The one change I did not like was the bathroom - the mirror is so recessed above the sink that I felt like I was looking into a tunnel. Also, the shower is a modernized rainfall style, but the water pressure is so low, it is difficult to rinse. In addition, the only way to turn on the shower is to reach in, under the shower head, so you inevitably get sprayed with cold water. Otherwise, a great place.

  It was OK - no more

  Travelled for business June 2016. Stayed 1 night at this Motel. We asked for updated room and expected to get something as pictured on trip advisor. We got 2 clean rooms but the decor was clearly dated (Early 1990's). Nothing to do with the picture on their website. Quick check in, quick check out. Courteous staff. Price was high considering La Tuque is a Remote site... About 130 CAD$ for 1 night in a 1990's room.... Nothing exceptional out there. Beds, cleanliness, Sleep Quality: OK. Price: High. Pictures - NOT representative.

  Good Value, Bit Overpriced.

  Hotel Marineau is a motel located on the main street of La Tuque but not very close to shopping or gas. We stayed here in October to compare it with our stay at the Hotel Marineau Centre in September. The motel has big rooms which include coffee maker, ironing board, small fridge, adequate work area and plug-ins, good internet service and a very big, bathroom with lots of towels, good amenities and hair dryer. The motel also includes a nice restaurant/lounge. This motel will be appreciated by those who value good service, a clean bathroom and comfortable bed. We did find the rates a bit higher than expected but overall, we enjoyed our stay and will stay at Marineau properties again.
