  So so.

  We arrived early around 14:30pm. The front desk already prepared room but still let us wait at the 2F cafe for 30mins. And the young man his English is not good. Luckily the other lady helped us. Room is all white looks clean but small. Their breakfast was not bad. But after all, the price is too high not match the service. Location just so so. If walk to Shin Kong department store need 12mins.

  Lovely cozy hotel with excellent service

  We were staying in a 4 ppl room and the room was massive with a living and a dinning room. The bed was comfy. The staff of the hotel were very nice and helped us a lot. Breakfast was above average. The hotel is very close to a 24 hrs supermarket and the night market is closed by.

  An amazing gem

  We booked the quad room for three people. It was an enormous room, while it was in the basement the room more than made up for it. It was like a small apartment rather than a hotel room. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the hotel is well located within easy walking distance of the Fengji night market, National Taichung Theater and a number of excellent restaurants. The free breakfast was a fantastic way to start the day. A highly recommended hotel, our number one hotel in Taiwan.

  Designer Awards Hotel

  POS - Architect: Jing-Yao Chang. Finished at 2016 and gained Taichung Urban Design Awards in the same year. All facilities are still new and good functioned. - Elevator - its very important for elderly or post knee surgery customer like me, and esp stayed in the roof top. - Sunlight brightened the room via those big windows and pure white interior design. - L shaped balcony was my favourite place for the morning coffee. - The spacious room simply just placed a double bed, 55 LED TV and the wavy lines bathtub as the focus of the room which totally matches and emphasis the main theme of the hotel: Relax traveller, take a break in here! - Bed with Hilker mattress did provide us a good sleep. - Equipped with Bravat bathroom facilities and strong ventilator, bathroom had always been kept in a dry, clean and fresh-air condition. - Plenty of electrical sockets, strong air con and water supply. That is very important for a tired traveller. No one wanna wait an hour for filling up a bathtub with warm water, right? - Highly accessibility. 10-15mins walk to Feng Jia night market, Maple Garden, National TaiChung Theatre and SK Mitsukoshi; 24hrs Carrefour and bus stop are just in the corner! Enjoying a warm bath to loosen tense muscles and join paints, having a late supper fm night market or watching TV shows... Hotel Mapp is definitely a good place for an exhausted traveller to slow down and unwind in journey. Cons - Security concern: Non 24hrs front desk. Lobby was totally dark after 11pm, even no light in front of elevator! Customer could enter the building with key card in the midnight. However, its highly risk for force entry by illegal piggybacking. Moreover, theres no door viewer for room. - Inflexible check in service No early check in but luggage storage available. - Cleaning issue: What a pity, a stain and a short hair were found on the bed sheet in the first day. However, theyre all gone after house keeping in the next day. All in all, Hotel Mapp runs like a semi service apartment instead of a boutique hotel. Its facilities is good but service management may need enhancement.

  Form over function

  Had Luxury Room on top floor. Lots of signs of wear and tear. Room very bright as all white and white blinds allowed sun in. No sleep after sunrise, and lights from shopping centre over the street kept room bright all night. Room not cleaned well. Very noisy due to laundry room next door.absolutely no hanging areas for clothes or towels. Unable to check in until 3pm which is strictly enforced. Breakfast awful. Cold food as warmers not used. Limited range. Handy large Carrefours shopping centre across street. Expected more.
