  Majestic - quiet and cool

  We chose Alassio and the hotel Majestic at the end of two weeks in Camogli and Levanto. The hotel has excellent service staff from front desk to housekeeping to the gracious dining room team. The food was very nice and the wine excellent. The hotel was quiet and cool after some very warm days on the beach. The town of Alassio is lovely and the beach clubs superb. Enjoyed some very good food and cold birra at the beach bars. Great shopping on the street parallel to the beach. Loved it!

  Great location and friendly helpful staff.

  Hotel Majestic very good value, with excellent food and helpful staff. Hotel well situated for the beautiful clean beach and the town only a short walk away, Great shops with not too many English! Visited in September and mainly Italians taking their holidays. Well situated for visiting nearby towns and villages. This resort has everything you need for an Italian holiday from beach to town with bars, restaurants and delicious gelati !!!

  Very decent hotel with charming and helpful owners

  This is a totally decent hotel that greets you with cool ceramics and understated good taste in the bedrooms after a hot day at the beach. Anyone who knows Alassio will know that the town is not an especially economical destination and the Majestic offers the usual Alassio choices: nice room, half-board, and space on a clean, well-operated private beach at an extra cost. I pay far more to stay in Alassio than I would in most destinations on the Med because, quite simply, this is one of the most charming, established, safe, well-rounded, pretty and varied sea resorts in the whole of Europe! Price/value has to be set in that context. Essentially, Alassio is an old-fashioned and traditional family resort that caters principally to Italians and that is exactly why I go there! The room was cool and airy with a partial sea-view. Enormous double bed. Pleasant and quite recently installed furniture and fittings. Breakfast was a well-varied buffet. The best aspect was the brother and sister team who own and manage the property. They were quite simply the most charming and attentive hotel owners that I have had the fortune to meet. They helped us a great deal with a difficult situation, and both clearly believe in PERSONALISING the experience of every guest. I appreciated this enormously and am looking forward to seeing them again next summer.

  Nice Italian family run hotel near seafront

  A lovely hotel operated by a brother and sister. It is situated very close to the seafront. The hotel also serves food and we found their food (although basic) much better value for money than outside restaurants. There is no swimming pool but the hotel has its own part of the beach nearby (you will need your own beach towel). Our room had a balcony. The only downside was the traffic noise at the front but this didn't cause us any problems. Alassio is a lovely traditional Italian family resort.

  After some research, we decided to go for Alassio because of tempered climate and wonderful beaches. While Hotel Majestic accounts as three star, many records on the net claimed better so we took a chance. And it was as hoped and even better. Very nice rooms with air conditioning, service-minded people, two balconies, refrigerator in the room, access to the private beach 50m from the hotel entrance, good food, etc, etc. Looking backwards, I can't find anything to complain. What could be mentioned is that Alassio is close to France. So food served at the hotel may be closer to the France cuisine than what are we accustomed in the media. However, we found the choice of antipasto, primo, secondo and dolce very good. The breakfast may be tricky, no bacon lovers here. As at least half of the Alassio visitors are Italians themselves, the breakfast is somewhat light, based on sugar. Finally, Hotel Majestic is a very good place to spend some time, enjoy the wonderful climate and rest. Are you in the search of more dynamic living, San Remo, Monaco, Nice and Genua are within the reach. Clear recommendation.
