By the seaWe stayed here for just one night while travelling "the heel" of Italy. To us it is the typical Italien seaside hotel. It is of medium size, and light and airy. We were given a room on the second floor and there is a lift. The room had a terrace from which we could see the sea, but it was too hot to sit there. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and nice fluffy towels were provided in the bathroom. The one thing we have noticed with these type of hotels is their reluctance to use the air conditioning until later on in the year. If there is a unit in your room you are not provided with control and if it is centrally operated it is just not on. This was again the case, and perhaps the only negative thing to say about this hotel. With temperatures, 35C, you do become a little warm!! Very, very little English is spoken but we all managed to understand one another. The owner was very helpful and obliging and there was no problem with us having dinner in the restaurant. The food was excellent, wine and water was included in the overall price. June appears to be a relatively quiet month so we parked the car right outside the hotel, but "in season" parking must be quite a nightmare. This hotel has a garage and perhaps you would need to reserve a place in busy times. The beach here is rocky and unsuitable, but the hotel provides a shuttle bus to the sandy beach just a short distance away.

Excellent hotelIts location is very good, near the sea and 10-15 minutes slow walk to the sandy beach. Its restaurant offers very good local food. The staff is excellent, they all want to make you happy. One of the ideal places to spend a couple of relaxing weeks surrounded by nature.

Disappointing proseccoHad a drink on the hotels terrace late afternoon and came away disappointed. Whilst you have a view of the sea front and the bar snacks that they serve are a decent quality, the bottle of process at 25 was frankly poor. To say we had a better bottle in the Hotel Mirfan at less than a third of the price was telling. Have a beer instead and you'll enjoy the location without feeling you've made the wrong choice.

Sunny SkiesWe stayed here, somewhat out of season, as we wanted to see the Puglia area of Italy and were blessed with clear sunny skies every day. The hotel was a little fewer stars than we are used to but in terms of value for money and overall experience was very good. The hotel is very welcoming with a high standard of decor and, whilst English is not their forte, we managed to communicate quite well and they were always very pleased to be of service. The room was clean, tidy and fairly well appointed with a great sea view and balcony. Fresh towels also arrived every day! There is a TV, with many channels but none of them are English, so brush up on your Italian or forget TV for a week! Well located just next to the seafront it is a good base if you want to go around Puglia, which is a delightful place to be. Parking was easy except for the bank holiday when we used the hotel underground car park. The restaurant was relatively basic, in keeping with 3 star hotels worldwide but the helpfulness of the staff was better than your average 3 star. The cost per night was good and whilst it is not in the same style as most of the hotels we stay at, I can say it was one of the best for value. One tip, our satnav had a few issues with the roads very close to the hotel, trying to send us the wrong way up one way streets but the easy way to find the hotel is to just drive along the sea front and look for the huge sign!
