  Adequate as airport hotel

  I looked for a hotel close to the airport since I was flying out of Montenegro the next morning. I found Lovcen Hotel on the airport road, some 7 minutes from Podgorica International on the way out from the capital. The hotel looks quite cosy and descent from the outside, almost like from another country. The staff welcomed me, however, they barely spoke any English (or German which also can be useful in Montenegro at times, I'd noticed). The room they showed me was adequate for a quick night, nothing special. No window, very basic and old furnishing. The bathroom was freezing since I couldn't close the window which is not a funny detail during winter. The heater in the bedroom worked fine, though. I can't say that the room was dirty, but still, it had a feeling of not being clean. I had dinner in the evening, it was ok, I guess, but in very non-cozy surroundings. During the night at around 3 o'clock I woke up by the fire alarm, I waited a few minutes, dressed and went to the reception where the night guard was trying to make some phone calls. He did not speak any English at all so I didn't know what was going on. I noticed then that the restaurant area was flooded quite heavily and more water was filling the room. I saw one local young couple leaving the hotel, fully dressed and no luggage. I reckon they were there for 'love' reasons. The owner (I think) showed up, managed to silence the alarm, shut off the water and started to clean up the place. I managed to go back to sleep by hand-signing questioning if everything was ok. I skipped breakfast, although the restaurant was dry by then, amazing. The staff didn't offer any explanation, even though the reception girl in the morning could communicate quite well. All in all, adequate for a quick night but hardly a place to stay for longer time if you want to explore Podgorica. Conveniently located if you want to stay close to the airport. Price: 40 Euro.

  Odd!

  A strange hotel. It is convenient for the airport and we have stayed here before so we thought it would be ok. Last time we had an upstairs room which was fine. This time we had a downstairs room which had a window that opened out onto another room where people were playing table tennis so we couldn't get to sleep. The bathroom was hilarious. The controls for the shower were located OUTSIDE the shower so you couldn't adjust them while you were in the shower. Because the shower hose had to be fed through into the shower you couldn't close the sliding doors fully. Also, the shower was connected to the same tap as the sink so I couldn't clean my teeth in the sink until my partner had finished in the shower. The beds were comfy but we had to search for the bed linen and found it inside the wardrobe. On the plus side it was cheap, the breakfast was good and there was free wifi.

  A transit experience

  The hotel is close to the center and the airport. Thought the restaurant is not active in day time they offer a choice of meal they obtain outside. Try goulash soup. It's delicious. The breakfast service and reception is nice. Fine for a low price hotel.

  Tylko na jedn noc, only for short stay.

  For longer is no sence. The crew was nice and friendly. Advantige of hotel is short distance from the airport. Brakefast was served tasty but nothing special. acording to the price facilities were low. Caution for the lizards at the corridor
