Probably one of the dirtiest places I've ever stayed

One removed from a youth hostel but not as clean! Superb location and good breakfasts with as much as you can eat but didn't enjoy being faced with a filthy bathroom, dirty towels and a sanitary bin still full from previous occupants. After finally acquiring clean towels we thought we'd take a shower only to find there was no hot water. Tried again in the morning - cold. Tried again that evening - luke warm. And so it went on until, fed up with our complaining, we were offered a key to the sauna where we found two rather grotty (but hot) showers. Strange how the hotel's owners chose to install a spa bath, sauna and multi gym in preference to improving the efficiency of the hot water system! There was no shortage of entertainment. The walls were so thin that nothing was left to the imagination and the crowd of drunken Belgians who we're drinking and smoking below our bedroom window had a fun time until the police were called in the early hours. How strange that the 'hotel's' manager did nothing to move them away! Perhaps this was somehow connected to the management being Belgian. Some good housekeeping and basic investment is all that's needed to make this a cracking place to stay but until they get rid of the torn sheets, muck under the beds, useless hot water system and smell of stale tobacco, it will remain a dump.

    Perfect location for skiing

Couldn't have been closer to the cable car, so perfect for a skiing. Found John and the rest of the staff friendly and fun. The room was lovely and warm and had a great south facing balcony. On a skiing holiday you don't usually spend too much time in the room. Village of Vaujany very cute and everyone very friendly.

Desperately poor! Avoid at all costs.

We were due to spend two nights in this hotel to complete our skiing in Vaujany, but decided after the first night we couldn't stay for another. I cant remember a hotel ever being so bad. Loud music, ridiculously cramped bedroom, shower didn't work, rubbish left on the balcony. Hotel manager just didn't seem to give a damn about the comfort of guests. I asked for a firm pillow and he gave me the only spare he had which was clearly very old and saggy. I also asked whether he had a hairdryer and he laughed and said he didnt use one! Breakfast was like eating in a school canteen. Hard boiled eggs and ham - awful. Its a real shame as the hotel overlooks a fab view and the pretty square and could be fab - but it seriously is not.

    winter 2016

Price quality we were satisfied. It is not a super top hotel but good quality and nice people and bar. In 5 minutes we were on the top dome des rousses in a super ski resort alpe d'huez. We are looking to come back beginning of april, otherwise summertime for nice biking.
